Any word on the potential third on court assistant?

I'm curious, too. It seems odd to me that it's taken this long to find the third assistant. I am glad he's not just rushing into the hire though. I'm sure there have been candidates.

That's what I'm thinking. He said, what feels like a month ago, that he hoped to have the staff in place by the next Monday.. Not exactly sure how long ago that was but I know we're way past that Monday.

Yeah I guess that is true. Hopefully he doesn't just settle on someone. He's made great hires so far.

My uncle brought up an interesting idea. He thinks we are waiting for TR Dunn. He's been hoping we'd hire him since we hired Avery. And it's been interesting that there's been no talk of any candidate, and he also happens to still be in the playoffs.

It's pure speculation, but there's no doubt he'd be the best candidate. You couldn't ask for a better person to help bring Bama basketball to the next level.

Would love that hire, possibly with the idea of grooming TR to take over if and when CAJ moves on.

Yeah, if Dunn is ever going to get his shot as a HC, which I think he's only done for one season in the wnba, it needs to be now.

But even if we don't get him, I'd love a defensive specialist for the last spot. It seems like we've got a couple great recruiters on staff already.

IMO, this gives credence to the thought of Roy Rogers and TR Dunn.

New assistant Probably hired by the end of the week. I don't think it will be a former player or NBA guy.

@CecilHurt: Scott Pospichal, noted AAU coach of the Texas Titans, will join Avery Johnson's staff at Alabama as an assistant, The News has learned.

That shows he got rejected a lot but I don't think it's bad to have an AAU guy on staff for sure.

Does sound like he got rejected a lot, but isn't there a stud SF we're after who plays for them?

From what I've read about Pospichal online, this is a pretty good hire. I'm excited about the basketball program.
