Yeah and I'm hopeful now that all the guys we have in the program will stick around. Not sure how CAJ will feel about Tarrant jacking up threes all the time but I don't see any major issues. All of the guys should feel like they have a better chance at making it to the NBA or euro leagues with CAJ as the coach.

Really interested to see what he'll do with Coleman, the PG and the arena.

He probably caught so much flack for the first press release, that he's gun shy about the sending out another.

I also assume they don't want to be overshadowed by the Final Four. Maybe hold out on anything official until later in the week to get a larger spotlight.

There are some really fricking mad opposing fans on the Rant tonight. It appears Battle did his job perfectly.

What I love is I have gone back and watched some of videos after he got fired and it looks so ridiculous now.

He was fired because people thought they should be a top 3 team in the East at the time. Well they traded away all of their assets and are still a borderline playoff team in a historically bad conference. People expected too much out of a Deron Williams led team.

I think his personality is much better suited for the college game. That's just what I've gathered from the videos I've watched so I could be completely wrong. JMO.

I've seen other people say the same thing, so you aren't alone on that.

Its quite a site to see them melting over our "mediocre" hire.

I hate how this is all based on "sources", still. I really want an official statement that makes this real.

ETA: Although his son did retweet the SportsCenter tweet about AJ Sr. accepting the job

It's real. He works for ESPN and it has been their breaking news today. That wouldn't have happened without it being true.

Per Drew D, Malik Newman is cousins with Avery Johnson and is close with Mo Williams.

I'm pretty happy about the hire. With that said, I will temper expectations until I see him recruit some players, hire some assistants, and coach some games.

That would be amazing, but you gotta figure it's too late.

@CecilHurt: For those who asked, Alabama basketball currently has 11 roster spots filled (9 returnees, 2 signees), 2 available. Could always change.
