At what point did we go from focusing on "who's next" to sandbagging for next season?

It's like people are conceding this year in hopes of being in better position for 2016. That kind of shite is for the Tennessee's and South Carolina's of the world.

I'm for whoever gives us the best chance to win NOW. If it's one of the young guys that's fine, but "future stability" at the position is not one of my priorities and by all accounts sounds like it isn't one of Saban's either...and it shouldn't be.

I think that many of us believe that Barnett could potentially give us that best chance to win.

but I agree with this, as I preached this all last off-season in favor of Sims.

Yep. CNS said he only considers who gives the team the best chance of winning now. Not worried about continuity.

The whole future stability thing is mainly only a thing if the battle is close. If a Senior and a Freshman are very close to one another, then I'd go with the Freshman. That's just me. If the Senior was noticeably better, I'd go with the Senior.

He's bigger than Brodie was...and faster.

that's not saying much considering Brodie spent most of his time here injured or on his back.

I watched the presser with Kiffin the other day and he more or less said the same thing. When it comes to schemes and personel, they will go with whoever and whatever gives us the best chance to win.

Talk about him needing to get bigger are overblown. Barnett is about 6"4 205. Desahwn Watson from clemson is (6-2, 205) and Trevone Boykin from TCU is (6-2, 205+)

You are 100% correct, this weight gain thing is stupid, he can compete now. Getting strong is one thing, gaining ridiculous weight is another. 210 is his ceiling IMO and he is already gained to 203ish now.

He has 2 to 2 1/2 inches on those guys. His ideal weight is going to be higher than someone 6'2. IMO Barnett is still bulking up and should sit around 220 when he's done.

220-230 would be ideal IMO. Won't necessarily happen overnight. Took AJ a while to put on weight too

If this Barnett kid is half as good as they say, and our staff is confident in the oline play, then I say let the boy play. Roll Tide. I'm excited about this kid!!!

You would've thought Capps' first name was "fricking" in our house

I think he should have just tried to sack Brodie himself. At least then he may have gotten in the defense's way.

Nobody believed in Chris Capps 'Ole style of pass protection, but who's laughing now!!!!

Hint it's still the Auburn fans.

There's no way Barnett wins the job this year. Maybe next year but not this year.

AJ was second string by the end of the year behind GMac in his true frosh year. If the other guys can't step up, I don't see why they would hesitate to throw him in there.
