But I think it's also pretty clear that Saban would not want Kiffin going to a west division rival. Whatever differences they may have, Kiffin is a good O.C. and a very good QB coach.

Agreed. If he doesn't get a HC gig I hope they reconcile whatever the issues are and Lane stays another year.

I agree. At this point I want Lane to stay. It give us less of a problem preparing for the Playoffs and it doesn't allow a good coach to go to a competitor.

That seems kind of odd. That is, if Saban wants another O.C. I'd think he would just inform Kiffin that his contract won't be renewed and "thanks for everything". If, though, he does want to keep Kiffin on the staff, I'm pretty sure he could and would make sure UA paid more than LSU.
