Sabans game plan is do what Bama does. Expect the same we've been seeing.

Yep. And some can do it and some suck at it. Peterson can do it. I know it sounds oh so obvious, but we are a good example. There are countless examples of Bama lining up and just doing what we do because we can out-talent most teams we play. We don't give a flying frick what you do on defense, we're running between the tackles. Nothing wrong with that because we make it work when we want/need to because of athletes. Peterson knows he can't do that with UDub and he's rarely been able to do it in big games in his entire career being at Boise and now UDub. He's definitely a better strategist than most coaches because he's had to be. He's going to zig when you zag because that's how he wins. And he's very good at knowing how to do it. I expect a gameplan very similar to the one Ole Miss used with one glaring, frightening exception. They have a potent running game to keep things balanced and keep us honest. Ole Miss didn't. He will mix in enough draws and blasts to make our DL play technique which will slow the pass rush enough to allow for short to intermediate stuff all day. The defense is going to have a frustrating day. And I'll almost guarantee Peterson will be in the refs ears asking for a tight game to be called as far as pass coverage goes.

At the end of the day, I'm confident we win, but hearing all the buzz of how we're going to skull drag them makes me nervous. We won't. UDub will stay with us and make us sweat this game for much longer than we would like. They lead the nation in TO margin and we have turned it over way too much this year. Hurts and Co are good for 2 TO's per game at least. The Huskies could make us pay for that today.

If I'm Kiffin, I accentuate our advantage in the trenches with a lot of double TE, I formation power runs to hit them in the mouth and show them they can't handle the physicality we can bring. But he won't. He will play into their hands with the finesse, wide stuff like the jet sweeps and bubble screens that the Huskies can take away. Saban will have to step in at the half as he has done way too often of late and adjust the second half game plan to more smash mouth until they overload the box to stop it then go over them.

If you're a gambler, I like the over in this game of 52. Washington will try to hit us early and quickly and get us down out of the gate. If they are successful and get some early points, we'll be chasing them down for much of the middle of contest leading to us going faster and scoring more than Saban probably wants to in this game. If he gets to choose, it'll be a slow, methodical probing of the Huskies, trying to slowly wear them down and find chinks in the defense we can exploit a la Mich. State last year. He doesn't want a track meet. Peterson does. Take the points. IMHO, if we cover 14, it's with a late score to ice the game, but a nail biter until then.

We won't do I formation, but I do expect we will try to bring a physical run game because Washington's best strength, according to what I have read, is their secondary. Hurts will absolutely need to connect on a few intermediate and/or downfield passes to make them defend the entire field, or it could make for a long day.

Your plan eliminates the QB run, which is one of our most obvious strengths.

Washington gives up 3.9 ypc and have an underwhelming QB when playing ranked opponents. Washington cannot take 3 quarters of the run, 0 depth. Their chance is to score quickly on big plays. But our trenches are stacked, Washington will have to get turnovers and some good calls to win. I've been told by several people the difference in the teams size and athletic build is huge.

Not sure I see the defense holding Washington to 7 points for most of the game.
