Their schedule has been pretty easy, but then now have 3 Top 125 wins (#54 Georgia Tech, #96 Ole Miss, #117 Kansas) and have hammered all of the bad teams they played and lost a competitive game on the road @ #32 Georgetown. They got smoked on the road by South Carolina, but South Carolina is a national title contender.

Seems like a reasonable expectation for them to go 6-10 or 7-9 in conference, which would put them at 18-12 or 19-11 and probably in the WNIT again (and possible the NCAA Tournament, not sure how their RPI would rise or fall).

Hopefully Curry has built a foundation and they will keep taking steps each year. It's good to have that program competitive again, because it was a total embarrassment there for a while.

Was our entire non-conference glorified high schools?

Lot of bad teams

#217 New Orleans (3-7)
#194 Mississippi Valley St (2-8)
#288 Lipscomb (2-12)
#316 Georgia Southern (3-9)
#337 Alabama A&M (0-9)
#310 Alcorn State (1-12)
#117 Kansas (6-8)
#30 Georgetown (8-5)
#228 Georgia State (4-8)
#54 Georgia Tech (11-4)
#265 McNeese State (3-7)
#292 UTEP (3-10)
#346 Florida A&M (0-12)

Not great. However, they are 2-2 vs the Top 100 and 4-2 vs the Top 200, and they killed all the 200+ teams. As sad as it is, that's a big improvement from even a couple of years ago.

The men are only 1-5 vs the Top 200

Really glad to see this. My mom played Bball for Bama in the 70's. She was pretty excited when Coach Curry was hired. Nice to see them make such a positive start to the season, even if it wasnt against top-tier opposition.

NCAA Tournament

No way in hell.

The schedule they have played this season and the past few have been pretty bad OOC. All the decent teams they play they lose or get straight up blown out to.

Just for comparison sake Duke Women, did not get into NCAAT last season 20-12, (8-8) finishing in top half of conference, after making it for 22 straight years.

And the ACC is the toughest conference along with the SEC wbb..so wins are tough to come by.

Yea - I don't keep up women's basketball enough to understand the bubble and what the general target would be.

Hopefully they just finish strong and have a chance at a good showing in the NIT. I can't imagine they are good enough to win 9-10 games in the SEC.

Women's basketball at Bama has been a laughingstock for decades.
Embarrassing, too.

I think you can make the NIT at .500 so they just need to win a few more games to be set in that regard.

They made the WNIT last year at 15-15. Well
on their way again. Hopefully more.
