Schedule with last year's RPIs

Power
Texas 157 (Birmingham)
Oklahoma 171
@Arizona 2 (unconfirmed)
Minnesota 20 (neutral- could not happen)

Mid Major
UMass 193 (neutral)
Memphis 121 (neutral)
UCF 69
Rhode Island 31
BYU 65 (neutral- could not happen)

I think we'll get that game @Arizona and maybe another road game against a power/good mid major team. Add hopefully a solid team in Huntsville (MTSU level) to that.

I think Western Kentucky would be a good team to play also. Like MTSU they're a team we play in football fairly often. They should have a good CUSA team this year and matching up with Stans again would be cool.

I don't think any matchups have been set for it yet.

Memphis may have their worst team in history this year.

One of the reasons our fast break was so horrible last year was the guy bringing it down the floor wasn't a finisher, regardless of who it was and like was stated, the other guys weren't great either. But with Sexton bringing it down, he will finish if you don't stop him, thus opening up the floor for better looks from the other guys. They'd just better be ready for the dish and the open look if the defense collapses on Sexton.

Their was one 2 on 1 fast break late in the game vs Tennessee where all Dazon had to do was go up with it and we go up by 7 but instead he tries to get cute and pass it to Riley and turns it over,Tennessee gets their own fast break hits a 3 and never looked back.....so frustrating.

Jerry Meyer

Top247 5-Star Myreon Jones putting it on Bradley Beal Elite. Another example of @247Sports being ahead of the curve.

I'll post the full stats when I see them

22 points on 50% shooting. Good game, but Jerry made it sound like it was in the 30s

Well it looks like this is gonna be one of those deals where the players arrive and no one reports it. Guess we'll have to wait until tomorrow to hear anything about it.

I think our chances are really good, but that's just my opinion. Doesn't really seem like anyone's recruiting him hard at the moment tho.

But if he keeps blowing up AAU ball, how long till he's no longer kinda under the radar and a Kentucky or UNC comes calling?

One thing that's unfortunate for him is that he moved to Georgia Stars after the live viewing period for coaches ended. He wasn't playing nearly this well when he was on Team Thad.

Alabama Fusion's U16 and U15 teams won the Nike Memorial Classic.

Some players on that U16 team (2019 recruits) to keep an eye on:

F DeAntoni Gordon with a double-double in the Championship game 27 pts 13 reb 3 blk (Wichita State commit)

PG Cameron Tucker put on a show in the championship game 17 pts 13 ast 8 rebs 3 stl

G Antwan Burnett (2020 recruit who plays up I think) with 19 points 5 rebs 3 stl 4 ast in the championship gm vs Bradley Beal Elite

G/F Chris Mayweather. I don't know his championship game stats, but he had a 20 point, 17 rebound game earlier in the tournament.

Hopefully these guys can get us a in state U17 team in EYBL next year.

Greg Byrne said a new contract is in the works for Avery and they're looking at what they need to do about Coleman

quote:

— Johnson hasn't made the NCAA Tournament in his first two seasons but has brought in one of the Crimson Tide program's top recruiting classes. Byrne said they're "working on" a new contract for Johnson and that Alabama fans bring up basketball pretty quickly in conversations. "What I've been told by a lot of good Alabama supporters is that there's as much interest in Alabama men's basketball right now as there has been in a long time," the AD said.

quote:

— Byrne said Alabama is reviewing facilities, including Coleman Coliseum, and deciding what will be the priorities. As for the possibility of building a new basketball arena, like rival Auburn: "We're doing some very early preliminary looks at Coleman Coliseum and what the right direction is for that."

The right direction would be to rip the damn thing down and put a modern gym in its place.
