No I'm not, been following it extremely close since Mcdyess days. I guess I exaggerated a little bit on that statement or wasn't as clear. Yeah we were in on some top guys for awhile, but it faded. To add to that it was only like 5 or 6 a yr. The ones we did get didn't pan out either. Look at how many top 100 guys we are in the top 3 for this yr. It's probably as many as Grant's last 3 or 4 yrs combined.lol Then 75 percent of the ones he signed ended up transferring. Even Gottfied put Grant to shame in recruiting until his last yr or 2. I wouldn't doubt that the reason most of them committed because of Pettway, and not Grant. Anyways, I think we can all agree I don't miss looking at him on the sidelines looking like a statue.lol

I really do understand why you and Bryant and other people want to take the wait and see approach. It's been so long since we have been good, and fans confidence has been down about our basketball team. It's hard not to take the wait and see approach. I might be be jumping out on a limb here, but I really am confident about the 17 class.

Look, we need to give Grant some credit, as soon as he went to the Thunder they became serious title contenders and no it's not bc of that great HC they have named Billy Donovan

Whatever, that's all Grant! He stares down the opposing team wiyh his arms folded, and it it distracts them causing them to wonder what in the world is he doing.lol

Got left out of the Big 12/SEC challenge again.

Yeah I saw that. I thought I saw someone say before that we wouldn't be in it this year bc the teams were already chosen before Avery got here

I really don't want to tough of a schedule this year. Give us a tough one next year when we get some serious talent in. Man I'm excited.

It's already pretty tough this year but next year we should be able to play with anyone if we get some of these elite recruits were after

Still have a fairly tough schedule already. Play Texas, Dayton, Clemson, and Oregon.
Would have been nice to have a big mid-season game in Coleman and host recruits.

Man I dream of a class with Collins, Reese, and Petty.

quote:yep. That's what I'm hoping were gonna do. Don't forget, Avery said we should host a couple of big time teams in Coleman this year. If Dayton is one, that leaves one more unknown team.

Dang! What's the deal with that? I know we already have a great out of conference schedule (2 being at Birmingham again ),but I thought for sure we wouldn't be left out again.

Yeah, we all do! We already got Daniel Giddens in the fold, and I think you can already add Alex Reese and Herb Jones. Then add in 2 of Petty,Collin Sexton, Reyshaun Hammonds, Cj Roberts, Troy Brown, and jaren jackson and you have the building block of this program. Even Giddens, Reese, and Herb Jones is a a heck of a class!

We only have one game in B-Ham this year right?
Posted on 5/24/16 at 9:08 am to Bamafan15
Yeah, there's still 1 or 2 big games that haven't been announced yet according to Avery in an interview last week.
Posted on 5/24/16 at 9:09 am to Bamafan15
I read it could possibly be 2. Still don't know for sure yet.

Bol had a great thread on Dazon Ingrams predicted stat line for next year. Let's here everyone's predictions for Ingram and Donta Hall. I think Hall will be a huge key for us next year getting to the tournament. For Ingram I got 13 points, 5 rebs, and 5 assist. Hall I got 7.5 points, 7 reb, and 3 blocks a game. With Ingram back this year and his ability to drive to the basket, I think it will provide Hall some alley oops or easy points cause they will collapse on him and leave Hall wide open. I also think he will hit some jump shots this yr. You can tell he has a good stroke from his free throws. I think he was just hesitant last year being a freshman and not messing up. I'm really excited about Ingram, it's a shame he got hurt and didn't get that experience. In the 7 or 8 games he did play you could see the talent. Actually was leading the team in rebounding. Lol He's electric going to the hole, he just needs to develop a more consistent outside shot.
