If we don't have someone step up at QB we won't go 8-0 with that schedule.

Going to be a non-conference game scheduled either September 13th or September 27th. November 1st will be one of the bye weeks. I'd prefer the other be September 27th.

There will be either two bye weeks or one bye week and a non-conference game mixed in this stretch, but that's no joke of a schedule breaking in a new QB. Florida will be loaded next year, Tennessee has nowhere to go but up, and Ole Miss should be expected to continue improving as well. Texas A&M isn't going anywhere with the way they're recruiting and LSU is LSU.

we will be breaking in a new QB and will lose more then likely 2 stud OL and a couple of our best D players. I hope we don't have a drop off but if we do the 14 season will be it

So when will our open dates be? I would bet the week before Florida and the week before LSU.

That still leaves a stretch of Ole Miss, Arkansas, Texas A&M, and Tennessee for the month of October.

Yeah 14 will be a bit of a drop, gotta see who returns though.

Kelly, Shep, And Arie should all be back. All of our WRs and TEs other than KN and KB7 should no be back. All of our RBs should be back unless one transfers or Fowler and/or Hart decide to just go on to the NFL. HaHa is likely gone, Nick Perry is a Senior. LC26, Vinnie, and Jarrick will all return as experienced Safeties. Belue/Fulton are gone. Geno will be back, but then Sylve, Cook, and Jones need to step up. Mosley is gone, and Hubbard will likely be gone too. Dickson/Devall/Anderson will still be here at Jack and Sam, and DePriest MIGHT come back in the middle, but if he doesn't then it'll be the first time under Saban that we don't have experience in the middle. Stinson is gone, and Pagan might be too. It depends how many guys we rotate and how much they play overall.

2014 may not be a championship year on paper.

I see dropping 2 maybe even 3 games in 2014. It happens.

The question is who'll be the QB in 2014? Cornwell, then redshirt Ricky Town as a Freshman? Will the new QB be able step up?

I would like the bye games next year to be after the Florida game and before the LSU game. The Ole Miss game would be a trap game if not for a bye week.

I can see 2014 being a rocky year, considering there's no heir apparent behind McCarron, and Deli Rip seems to be the closest they have right now. With that said, 10-3 or 9-4 at the worst.

Who is the 4th OOC opponent?

Would be nice to get another BCS school somewhere in there...maybe a Purdue-esque type of team.

Ricky Town is 2015....will still be a Sr in HS.

I think its going to be Cornwell in 2014. Huge kid, huge arm and he can move, plus he is a Nuss guy. If not Cornwell, then I say Bateman with Morris as backup

This thread has made me realize how insanely good the SEC is in today's college football. 98% of the teams in the NCAA would sell their souls to the devil to have Alabama's 2014 team. And if I had to guess I'd say they'll lose at least 2 games unless someone steps in and does something special at QB.

And if they go to the SECCG or NC good god. I can't even imagine a program being that dominant in today's football.

Last year's team was considered to be a rebuilding year, granted it had a veteran QB. I just wish there was a solid QB behind AJ that could take the reins next year.

I can't remember is I thought it was a rebuilding year but the thought of it now is just silly. Veteran quarterback. Two elite running backs with maybe the best offensive line ever. A few very reliable college wide receivers and a stud we didn't see coming. The best linebacker in the country. 9th pick overall at corner. One very solid veteran safety and first round pick safety. Solid D line with guys who do their job very well. Last years team was stacked.

And yes, I fapped while writing that.

By all accounts Morris has not performed very well, at least not up to what the coaches wanted, so far in camp. Hell, Del Rio was taking the snaps with the 3rd team offense over him.

I think Bateman is going to be the one to watch throughout the season. He is very athletic and has an above average arm. If he can adjust to the speed of the college game he will be very, very good.

I wouldn't bet on Cornwell coming in to start as a true freshman either.

Hell, we may even go with Blake Sims if none of the other guys step up.
