We were very fortunate to be on him early, and there's not much else we could have done to get the leg up on some of the bigger programs.

If we lose him to someone who showed up late to the party, it will be very disheartening.

Collin Sexton still says he likes the schools that have been recruiting him the longest but he's open to all schools. New schools like Kansas, UNC, and Nova are now recruiting him and he said they still have a shot. Here the LINK

Says he wants to go somewhere that makes it easy on his family to come watch. Tuscaloosa is 3 hours away, Chapel Hill is 5 hours. I feel like UNC will be who we need to worry about.

I think one by one with coaches talking about the games. Pretty cool event thus far.

We are playing in Birmingham and Huntsville this year. Hopefully Petty doesn't sign elsewhere in November and make this move meaningless.

That's a very good schedule. I love us playing in 4 different cities in Alabama in one year (Tuscaloosa, Birmingham, Huntsville, Auburn). That's great exposure. Also got Dayton coming to Coleman. I love it! #BuckleUp

Wow, Bama coming to the VBC? Thought that would be a pipe dream.

So was that basically a plan so that Petty could watch us play?

I think its good for North AL as a whole. We always have pretty good players.

Here's an interview with Jerry Meyer from earlier today about Alabama recruiting. It's 12 minutes long. LINK . He basically just said what I posted earlier about Sexton, we still have a good chance but the "big dogs" are coming after him and Sexton is open to listening to them. He thinks Troy Brown is one of the top guys on our list and he thinks Avery is confident he can get him. He also said he thinks we're in a good position for Reese. Nothing's really changed with Petty.

Btw, that Clemson game at the BJCC is part of the season ticket package.

I expect it to be sold out again.

Man that interview was a buzzkill. Meyer is my favorite HS Basketball Scout and one of the many reasons is his ability to read these kids. Before hearing that interview I felt 80% confident we would land Sexton, and now I'd have to choose the field.

Like Meyer, I do find it interesting how much time we're spending on Troy Brown. I really hope they're right to feel confident.

I would feel better about landing some of these 5 star guys if we would build a new arena. I know the topic has been beaten to death, but Coach needs some help selling the program. Showing the commitment of a new arena would be huge.

This program would gain so much momentum is a new arena was built. Fan attendance would improve (which is already has with Avery), recruits would obviously notice Alabama is more than just a football school, fan experience would be greater, and we would finally have a good place to seat the student section.

Of course with that, we would hear so much about UAB not getting a new football stadium and Alabama just getting a new baseball stadium and basketball arena.

And all I would do is laugh at those that complain.
