It's was the first game, when have we ever gone full blown offense? Let them get there feet wet a bit, and expand on it, this was basically a test run.
Again, this sounds like a good explanation initially, but passes to the TE are probably the most basic, vanilla an offense can be. Especially with a new starting QB, you'd think easy passes to the TE would be part of the gameplan to get the QB some easy completions and confidence.

Sophomore defensive lineman A'Shawn Robinson made his voice heard at practice, as he yelled at freshman Josh Frazier on Wednesday. Robinson made the freshman redo a drill because he didn't like the way it looked the first time.
Love seeing this, especially from a Sophomore.

@AaronSuttles: Saban: Christion Jones, Chris Black and ArDarius Stewart can play in DeAndrew White's spot at wide receiver.
Guess we'll have to wait another year for Foster

@Marq_Burnett: Saban on K Adam Griffith: I've always liked Griff. He's never been one of those guys who gets affected by much at all.
@AaronSuttles: Saban: ArDarius Stewart is strong, fast and explosive. Gained valuable experience Saturday.

So he's the anti-Cade Foster

thought taylor did good. Brown had the 3 penalties. We had no sacks and pretty much ran at will so not sure how anyone can say an OL did not play well. The 3 penalties caused me to yell at the TV to sit him arse on the bench
I think everyone did. They were in like a 10 minute span lol.

foster plays behind cooper, not white

True, but I don't get why all of our WRs don't know every position.
Or maybe they gradually teach it over time and Foster is only a second year player.
I don't know, but he may be our next great receiver.

We have a lot of talented receivers right now. I dont mind Saban keeping Robert Foster in his back pocket while giving some of the older WRs playing time. Robert Foster is going to be a focal point of our offense in the future and will most likely be the #1 Receiver on our team after Amari Cooper leaves.

This. I remember wondering what the gameplan would be against that ridiculous defense of LSU's in the rematch. Easy completions to the TE absolutely set the tone in that game.
As the season progresses I'd like to see the kitchen sink being thrown at teams. Sims isn't AJ or McElroy, and that's fine. But for him to be successful they have to let him take his lumps while using all of his skills.
I'm afraid they're gonna try to limit him in order to keep mistakes low. That works some years, I don't see this year being one of those years.

Foster will play plenty this week considering Coop will be prob be on the bench after halftime.
Coker will be looking to throw some deep balls and Foster might be the best deep threat on the team besides Cooper and White.

Actually Foster was listed as White's back-up at the Z for the first game.
For the 2nd game Foster is listed behind Cooper and Cam Sims at X which I find surprising.

Alabama OL Grant Hill broke one of the blocking sleds.
DeAndrew White (shoulder) returns to practice, while Christion Jones (ankle) was limited

damn, Big Grant trying to get in the game. Coaches have no choice but to take notice of that.

I was really impressed with Stewart. Kid is going to be a nightmare for defenses in the future.

A little offtopic, but surprising and didn't want to start a thread on it..

Apparently fell down the depth chart to backup center.
If you watched tOSU's performance against VT you'd have to wonder how he could not be better than the five they fielded. To be fair, our oline had a similar performance against vt last year.

Here's the blurb from tOSU site

quote:
Ohio State center Chad Lindsay has announced that he is stepping away from college football due to injury, per Austin Ward of ESPN. Lindsay announced his departure from the sport in an e-mail, but didn't specify the injury or severity of it. The transfer from Alabama was first reported injured in pre-season camp and apparently aggravated the injury again last week in practice, according to reports. The fifth-year senior was supposed to compete with Jacoby Boren in camp for the starting center job, but the injury and being behind on the offensive scheme let the junior, Boren, seize the job. Lindsay never played in a game for the Buckeyes. It is expected that Pat Elflein or Billy Price will fill in at center should Boren need to come out of the line-up.
