I don't know, but I think he's one of those content fans who are ok with being mediocre ALL THE TIME..like snatchy. Because that's the only thing we have been, AT BEST, since Grant has been here.

I look at the situation like a class. Since he brought it up. I may get a B in a class but that doesn't mean I necessarily like that teacher and the way they teach and wouldn't reccomend them.
I love our players and will support them but I don't necessarily care for the coach or think that they are the right person in the end.

these guys are awful for moral.. I would never have this attitude being allowed anywhere near my team, fan base, nor children.. I have two kids who are a corner turn from being an adult.. and I would go hide in a corner somewhere if they even remotely got close to having the attitude I see from these so called "fans" on this board.. either they are filled with angst from other areas in their life, or, they really just don't have the knowledge or experience or insight to get it.. they don't even pretend to understand Psychology 101.. that being, do you think this approach to any Alabama team is doing them any good at all? H*** no! Just the reverse.. ALL it could ever do is work against your team.. negative fibs, negative karma, negativity.. are these Auburn fans dressed up in elephant clothing.. maybe there is a "mole" somewhere.

Guy.... I don't even....

Sigh......

We're past the point of fan morale making any difference.

There are two options:

1. You think Grant is going to magically become a good coach soon.

2. You think we should be happy with being bad.

Both of those are BS. I've watched pretty much every single game for the past 5 1/2 years. What you see is what we're going to get. Fans have every right to be disappointed, AND to voice that disappointment. If you want change, somebody has to know you're unhappy.

I don't know what you've been watching if you think Anthony Grant is an above-average coach. He isn't. I'm not OK with average. Bill Battle, shouldn't think we're ok with average.

I agree completely. At $1.8m we're certainly not paying him just an average salary, so we should expect above-average performance.

There were 43 coaches who took their team to the NCAA tournament last year and who make less than Anthony Grant: LINK Including Wichita State's coach (though, to be fair, he's very very close to Grant).

As an aside, holy crap at Coach K making over $9m a year. Insane, but clearly worth it.

Oklahoma up 16 at 12:30 mark; down 1 with 6:07 left (17 point negative swing in ~ 6 mins)

Duke up 7 at 12:11 mark; down 6 with 2:42 left (13 point negative swing in < 10 mins)

Wichita State up 3 6:22; down 1 1:26 left (4 point negative swing in 4 mins)

UCLA up 4 at 16:04; down 1 with 56 seconds left

LSU up 19 at 17:04; down 1 at 1:10 (20 point negative swing in ~ 16 mins, were lucky to win by 2).

Does anyone else notice a trend here? I supported Coach Grant for the first few years, but have seen nothing to lead me to believe that he is capable of getting Bama b'ball back to where the program belongs - making the Sweet 16 consistently.

He seems like one of those fans who think any criticism directed towards a coach is somehow equal to being a bad fan. Saw a lot of that during Shula's last year.

Not sure why I'm being called out in this thread. I'm the calmest one of the bunch.

If you played the KY game at BDS in frount of 104,000 positive Bama fans and KY plays their game we lose by 20.
We haven't had a real BB coach since Whimp was let go. And the one we have now will never be any more than he is right now.
If you disagree with that statement make your augment for a turn around.
The ship has sailed and it has a bad leak in the hull and needs an overhaul.
We all wish for CAG to make us all proud of the state of Bama BB. I know I do,and I also wish to win the Lotto this weekend.
Hope I didn't offend, But that is how one old fan sees the state of UA BB.

Maybe you should ask the Kentucky fans if they would like to swap coaches or if they would like to hire Grant to replace Calipari when he retires. I bet you won't get many takers on that.

I have been disappointed since Wimp. 20+ years of wondering through the freaking desert. I thought Gottfried had found the promise land but it was just a mirage. I had high hopes for Grant but I haven't seen enough improvement to warrant keeping him around after the season is over. Its basically the same thing every year with Grant.

I would rather fall on my face making a change, while trying to improve, than wallow around in mediocrity.

I loved the Grant hire at first and was still behind him when most weren't, but the last couple years, I've been losing hope. Honestly if he can't get to the NCAAT this year, I'm not sure how anyone could really justify keeping him. I've also had enough of people pointing out legendary coaches' starts as a reason to keep Grant. If everyone went by that philosophy, coaches would keep their jobs for an eternity regardless of how their team performs. Just because Coach K turned things around doesn't mean Grant will. I actually do think Grant could be a successful coach, but if he can't get it done this year I don't think it's going to happen at UA. He's been given more than ample time to prove himself. It's time to put up or shut up.

It's really hard for me to understand support for Grant at this point. I was done after year 3 but gave him the beneift of the doubt for year 4. After year 4 I'd had enough but was told he needs at least one more year by people on this board who know far more about basketball than I do. After year 5 was sub-par I couldn't care less what anyone else thought. It was already time for him to go and now he's on borrowed time imo. If he wins a couple games in the NCAAt I will concede improvement and will look forward to the future. If we make the tourney and lose in our first or second game I will accept the fact we will keep him around longer but I will in no way be happy about it.
