Former NBA player and Kentucky Wildcat Rex Chapman was arrested in Scottsdale on Friday after a months-long, $14,000 shoplifting spree at a local Apple Store. How did he do it, you may ask? Chapman would check out merchandise via an iPhone self-checkout app, but not actually going through with the transaction. He would then go to a local pawn shop to sell the products for cash.

quote:
"Employees picked up on the ruse after 1) recognizing Chapman as a former Phoenix Sun, and 2) after enough instances — seven, to be exact — of him walking out with merchandise he’d failed to pay for."
