It’s probably fair to say that playing for a NC is a secondary goal for Coach Calipari….and I’m ok with that. Primary goal is recruiting and developing the best guards in the country to get them highly drafted by the NBA. If the NC gets in the way and we flush it….fine. If not….he’ll do the same again the following year. We use leftover dollars on bigs. First money goes to guards. Just how it is. We will always be incredibly exciting to watch and will always have trouble with big uglies who bully us in the lane.

I think all of this is right but I don’t like it. We have the resources and the backing to be Elite if we want to be.

Also, I think the big man thing is quite overblown. Bowser is 6'11" and Muurinen is 7'. How is that not having a big?

If those are the two we are riding with when we play Florida next season, we will get beat worse than when we played Florida this last year.
I don’t believe people when they tell me they get car sick. Car sickness is a made up thing.
The guy Arkansas picked out of the stands to pitch has a last name of Lee?
I’m trying to figure out if I’d feel any better about this season if we had gotten the host site we deserved and gotten Miss St’s cakewalk of a regional before going and getting executed @ Georgia. Still wouldn’t be happy but not sure I’d have as bad of a taste in my mouth.

Yeah starting McElvain is the right call. Best chance to keep KU off the board for a couple innings and try to let the bats get us out front.

So far, so good

Yep. Absolutely had to go 3-0. And I let the SECT talk me into believing maybe we could actually do it.

But on the 5% chance we could actually battle back through the losers bracket, it was gonna require like 5 IP from McGuire, 2 from Dossett, and 2 from Kircher or something like that. A 10-9 nailbiter is gonna be the nail in the coffin.
I guess we have Fisher too (God help us)

Maybe Gibler could throw 10-15 pitches?
Realistically you could probably see McElvain for a couple innings and I guess maybe Gaeckle for a couple innings? Other than that, I honestly don’t know. Try and get an inning out of DeCremer? Lights looked awful bright for him last night.

Hogs survive to win 10-9 and advance to get our asses beat by Kansas here in about 90 minutes.
Another base knock for Northeastern makes it 10-9. Bottom 9, runner on 1st. 2 away.

Pitching change.
2 run double for Northeastern.

Hog lead down to 10-8. Bottom 9, 2 outs.
Robinett AGAIN! 10-6 Hogs
Little insurance there with a Stewart solo shot. 9-6 Hogs
Hogs lead 8-6, heading top 9
We have GIDP with the bases loaded 3 times in this game. Thats the kinda stuff that’s key for the upset.
Northeastern with a 2R HR.

8-6 Hogs, bottom 7. Huskies still batting.

Will probably have to go to McElvain soon which will effectively end any chance of being competitive should we advance to tonight’s game.
Robinett with another HR. 2nd on the weekend, 3rd on the year

8-4 Hogs, still top 7
