I have nightmares of our OT games. The ones that come to mind:

Jacksonville State
Egg Bowl 2013
Arkansas 2001 (actually a great game with a bad ending)

Do you think we have a disadvantage with Freeze's scheme relative to the current OT setup? (Having to go for 2 and no power running game?)

What are some others that I have blocked out? Have we won some and I just buried the wins under the mountain of my OT sorrow?

We beat a Daunte Cullpepper led Central Florida team back in the late 90s under Tubberville... I believe that was our first OT game ever... He fumbled at the 1 yard line... Our FG kicker missed 5 FGs that day.

The engineering school is currently working with UMMC to clone 10 Jeremy Liggins so we can run an 11-BigLig set for those conversations.

On second thought, we may need 21 clones of Lig. Lord knows he can't go every down.

I think he's far and away the most underrated athlete on the team. If you go back and watch Walton's touchdown run against State, he was keeping up with him and Core stride for stride all the way down the field. And he weighed about 270-280. That's freakish

As soon as our OL are better at run blocking than pass blocking and one of our top two play makers is a running back then we will run the ball more than we pass. But when your OL pass blocks significantly better and your best skill players are at WR and QB, you throw it. We aren't locked into a scheme. It has much more to do with the players we have. The big issue is for whatever reason the state of MS doesn't produce elite RB's. TN gave UT Hurd, LA gave LSU Fournette, AL gave Bama and Auburn Yeldon and Roc, don't get me started on GA and FL. If we had a Treadwell at RB instead of WR, we'd be a power running team. A lot of people don't seem to think a spread team can run it with power, which amazes me becuase Auburn has done is very well.

It's amazing how that is the first overtime game in our entire series.

Cullpepper scrambled left and not a single soul was anywhere on that side of the field. It was fourth down..... And he tripped over his own foot.

I think it was when they scored a TD and then decided to try to win the game by going for 2 instead of extra point and extending. And he landed on like the 4-inch line. It was a heart stopper.

This, and like it was stated, he just tripped. I was at this one and the freaking Arkansas 7 overtime game. Ugh.

Well, OT still is still relatively new. I guess if you factored in our ties you could get a rough idea (rough bc I am sure there were times we would have tied but instead a coach went for the win)of how many times we would have gone to OT.

Has LSU and Ole Miss gone to OT yet?
