My other thread went from being a pat on the back to the SEC's potential quality, to a total shite show. Let's at least get facts into your arguing.
National Championships:
Kentucky--8
Florida--2
Arkansas--1
LSU--0
Mizzou--0
Tennessee--0
Vanderbilt--0
Alabama--0
Auburn--0
Texas A&M--0
Georgia--0
South Carolina--0
Mississippi State--0
Ole Miss--0
Final Fours:
Kentucky--16
Arkansas--6
Florida--5
LSU--4
Georgia--1
Mississippi State--1
Mizzou--0
Tennessee--0
Vanderbilt--0
Alabama--0
Auburn--0
Texas A&M--0
South Carolina--0
Ole Miss--0
Elite Eights:
Kentucky--35
Arkansas--10
Florida--8
LSU--6
Mizzou--5
Georgia--1
Mississippi State--1
Tennessee--1
Vanderbilt--1
Alabama--1
Auburn--1
Texas A&M--0
South Carolina--0
Ole Miss--0
Sweet Sixteens:
Kentucky--40
Arkansas--10
Florida--10
LSU--9
Alabama--8
Mizzou--7
Tennessee--7
Vanderbilt--6
Auburn--4
Texas A&M--3
South Carolina--3
Mississippi State--3
Georgia--2
Ole Miss--1
NCAA Appearances:
Kentucky--53
Arkansas--29
Mizzou--26
LSU--20
Alabama--20
Tennessee--20
Florida--19
Vanderbilt--13
Texas A&M--12
Georgia--11
Mississippi State--10
Auburn--8
South Carolina--8
Ole Miss--7
Conference Tournament titles:
Kentucky--28
Mizzou--8
Arkansas--7
Alabama--6
Florida--4
Tennessee--4
Mississippi State--4
Vanderbilt--3
Texas A&M--2
Georgia--2
South Carolina--2
Ole Miss--2

Conference Championships:
Kentucky--47

All-Americans:
Kentucky--53

Tennessee--24
Mizzou--22
Alabama--18
LSU--14
Mississippi State--14
South Carolina--14
Auburn--13
Ole Miss--13
Georgia--12
Vanderbilt--8
Florida--6
Texas A&M--1
The average rank across categories is as follows:
1. Kentucky--(1)
2. Arkansas--(2.25)
3. Mizzou--(4.25)
t4. Tennessee--(5.38)
t4. Alabama--(5.38)
t6. Florida--(5.5)
t6. LSU--(5.5)
8. Mississippi State--(6.5)
9.Vanderbilt--(8)
t10. Texas A&M--(8.63)
t10. Auburn (8.63)
12. South Carolina (8.75)
13. Georgia (8.88)
14. Ole Miss (10.38)
Obviously, it would be more accurate to weight the categories in terms of their prestige (i.e. a National Championship is worth more than a bunch of tournament appearances) so this list is heavily flawed. Obviously Florida is way higher than tied for 6th best program in the SEC. I'm just bored and crunching worthless numbers

It takes work to be as bad as we are historically.

Looks like Arkansas is the clear #2 historically.

I quit following college basketball 15 years ago and can't get used to the idea of Florida being an elite team. Can't believe how far Arkansas has fallen, either.
It's amazing how much Florida has accomplished in those 15 years, though.

From looking at their history, it looks like Florida basketball didn't even exist until the '90s....a lot like their football program. Weird!

Did you make that?
I remember the '35 natty like it was yesterday

The world is only 27 years old, baw. Its in the Bible. "On the first day, the University of Florida and its savior were created." August 14th 1987 to be exact.

Hey whatever works! Honestly, programs like Florida that suddenly rose up out of nowhere to be elite (especially in not one but TWO sports) is what keeps me hanging on to hope with Mizzou. It's easy to look at how we have no national titles in either major sport and get discouraged, but then I remember Florida's emergence from nowhere and it keeps me saying "maybe next year".

Its weird how things change in sports. Honestly, I'm young enough to not even remember a time Florida wasn't a top sports program. I didn't even really follow college sports cause I had no ties to any school, until after I enrolled post-Tebow era. So It's even hard for me to imagine teams like LSU or Alabama to be in a down period just because it seems like they've been good for as long as I've been really watching CFB.
Watch five years from now Mizzou be good at everything

Acie Law IV is A&M's only All-American in mens basketball.
Not sure if the "1" is going to be more or less embarrassing than the question marks, but for the sake of accuracy you may as well throw it in there.

Wouldn't number of wins mean more than appearances too? Half of the teams get voted in...u guys 1 and done much?

1. Kentucky
2. Florida
3. Arkansas

Agreed, although Arky does have a legit argument for #2 with their longevity and advantage in conference titles, all americans, etc.
But with current trends of the programs I think Florida gets the nod.

How many of those are SEC titles though? Easier to win in the SWC without UK.
