I think Chaney has called a great game the last two weeks but what in the world was that about. Allen made a good play and turned it in to positive yards but that had 3rd and Chaney written all over it.

Raise your hand if at that moment you thought the game was about to turn in favor of Ole Miss.

:kige:

just to highjack the thread.

How about Coley being in on/getting the last 5 out of 6 final tackles.

Definitely a huge WTF moment, considering how well the run game had been working.

No kidding? Dammit, I let the wife talk me in to leaving big with 7 minutes left in the game because she was freezing.

I'm glad to hear that though. He's one of my favorite players in the team. I really want him to succeed because he just seems like such a great kid. I think between him and Liddell, we are going to be pretty salty at safety the next few years.

It just didn't make any sense. Ole Miss probably has the fastest DL in the SEC. That guy was to Allen almost immediately. Thankfully Allen dodged it. You run that against anyone but them if you absolutely have to do it.

I swear Chaney reads this fricking board.

I bitched about him in the lack of crossing routes, moving Allen in the pocket, next game that happens.

Last week it was about Collins being in the Wildcat instead of Williams due to a lack of a passing threat, this week he is and what do ya know there was a wide open pass TD, available.

So now I say, STAHP THE frickING SWEEP PLAYS ON THE GOAL LINE.

I may give the coaches too much credit, but I think some of the trick plays are part of trying to make it fun for the players.

Some work and some don't, but I really think they are good, for the reason stated above, and also making it more difficult to prepare to play against.

I remember when BB was coaching Wisconsin and Iowa had them beat, until a fake punt by Wisc turned the game around completely.

Well the whole idea is for the defense to not realize the center is eligible and for him to have a free release and to be immediately wide open.

Problem was Ole Miss realized he was eligible and jumped at the LOS.

I mean I get that. It was basically the same play we ran against Auburn last year just with a QB instead of a kicker. I just didn't get the point of it in that situation against that DL.

I do understand what is said above about Bielema making it fun for the players. I definitely agree with that statement and I think he might have said as much when being interviewed about Tretola. We do roll out some wacky stuff at times that the players seem to love.

Michigan St ran a reverse with an OL this weekend so perhaps we'll see that in the playbook soon. Don't tell me you wouldn't love to see Tretola lumbering down the sideline after getting the ball on the reverse.

it was a boneheaded call. There was zero reason to get cute and risk losing momentum.

Heck how would yesterday have turned out if BA had gotten hammered, fumbled, they scooped and scored?

We have a real issue with doing stupid shite when it's unnecessary.

that's a little overly dramatic.

anybody know why after the success of the first two running plays everything went up the middle instead of to the outside?

Chaney sucks. My opinion still hasn't changed.

I recall some plays meant to go outside but I thought Ole Miss's lateral pursuit was pretty good and shut them down. I could be wrong though, I was drinking.

This sounds weird after two straight shutouts, but is anyone else a little concerned that our running game hasn't been that great or consistent in about a month?

Granted, we've played three very good lines in a row in MSU, LSU and Ole Miss, but we don't seem to be getting a push at all, and Williams and Collins are having to fight for every yard. We averaged 2.5 ypc against LSU and 3.1 ypc against OM. Also, that play on Saturday where the OM linemen flew past Cook like he was standing still and blew up the handoff for a fumble almost made me lose my religion.

Our running game hasn't been that great in SEC play in general. I think we were like ninth in YPC going in to the Ole Miss game. That's not good at all for what we want to do.

Funny how Bielema cries when he talks about Trey Flowers and worked hard to get Spaight invited to the Senior Bowl, yet he never says a word about Brey Cook.

I haven't even thought of that.

Yea it hasn't been great. But teams also stack the box against us. We should still be doing better than that though.

we pretty much run when we need to and pass when we need to. which is equalling wins. I don't see any reason to complain as long as we're able to both when we need to
