Who would win in a tournament of BCS era runner ups? What would be your top 5? Top 10?

Here's a list of the #2's from the BCS championships:

1998 - Florida State
1999 - Virginia Tech
2000 - Florida State
2001 - Nebraska
2002 - Miami
2003 - Oklahoma
2004 - Oklahoma
2005 - USC
2006 - Ohio State
2007 - Ohio State
2008 - Oklahoma
2009 - Texas
2010 - Oregon
2011 - LSU
2012 - Notre Dame
2013 - Auburn

Should I edit? I figured everyone would say 2011 LSU.

'11 LSU, '05 USC,'02 Miami and '98 FSU would be my top 4

With '11 LSU beating '05 USC for the title.

I'm biased but I honestly believe 2004 AU is the correct answer.

I'd go Miami over '98 FSU. Maybe even 2005 USC.

I agree. I'd take 2004 AU over quite a few of the champions from the BCS era.

But they weren't a BCS runner up. Didn't play in the game, so I'm not including them.

05 USC would beat 90% of those teams

I would say finishing #2 in the BCS makes you BCS runner up.

Then change the title to best team to lose a BCSCG

05 USC would beat any of those teams.

That team was freaking loaded on offense and defense.

But travis daniels recovered the fumble in bounds ending the auburn game winning drive against lsu in 2004. oh, you mean the officials called travis daniels out bounds just like they called Patrick Peterson out of bounds against bama in 2009.

And yes I realize that UGA wasn't the runner up in 2012 but they would have beaten ND just as bad
