Tell me what my expectations should be SEC fans. Here are my initial post spring practice thoughts.

Utah St - Could lose which would be terrible, but if we come ready to play at home should be a W

Ark St - Same as above but should be a W

@Oklahoma - Why are we doing this to ourselves right now? Big L

BYE

@UGA - We seem to always play them close but don't see us stopping Gurley. 10 Pt L.

UF - One of the biggest games of the season, true toss up and will depend on if Bama destroys UF the week before our game and has them reeling or not. Toss Up

Chattanooga - Thank God an easy one Big W

@Ole Miss - Actually forgot about this game. Not sure what to expect here. But since it is on the road I will say close L.

Bama - That was short lived Big L

@USC - Payback should likely be in the minds of SC. Should be competitive for a while then SC blows it open in the 2nd half 14pt L

Bye

Missouri - Bye comes at a good time as this is our second big toss up game. Missouri lost 15 starters and I am not expecting a lot of them this year. This game is at home and we will be coming off a bye with a bowl game still in play. Can we pull it out? Toss Up

Kentucky - Should be able to win this one at home with a bowl game hopefully still in sight if we could have won one of UF or Missouri 14 Pt W

@Vandy - I believe Vandy takes a big tumble this year. This being on the road isn't a problem either as we always put about 60% of the stadium in Orange. We will have improved a lot over the year with our young talent playing. I give us the Close W

So by my estimations we have 5 W's and 5 L's with two toss ups. Can we win one of the two to make a bowl game?

It will not be easy, but it's doable. I actually expect our offense to be a tad bit better this sesaon. The offensive linemen are new starters, but they're talented, heavily recruited, and all have been in the program for a few years. We've definitely upgraded at WR, RB, and TE.

The defense concerns me, big time.

I can see anywhere from 4-8 to 7-5.

Solid list. Jones isn't sneaking up on anyone like last year though.

I'd take TN over Florida right now FWIW.

Can they? Yes.

I'd put it at 50/50 right now.

Swayze what do most Ole Miss fans think about the TN game? See it as an easy W?

Not sure how our teams match up...would think your QB will be able to run on us pretty good.

What's helping us more than anything is the turnover in the SEC East. I expect Vandy, UGA, USC, and Mizzou all to take a slight step back. You HAVE to think UF will be better, but who really knows.

More than a handful of teams are breaking in new QBs this season, which is always a bit scary.

That's what makes it possible. There really is no East game that is an auto L although @UGA and @SC are close.

I just wish we could catch a break with our schedule to help us get some positive momentum going soon. We sure as hell know our fanbase isn't patient or realistic even.

Anywhere from 5-7 to 7-5 if the ball bounces the right way.

Schedule is absolutely brutal. Would be happy with a 6-6 finish and a bowl game

I think most reasonable OM fans would agree that it's one that worries them.

6-6... with a bowl win to get to 7-6... but the honeymoon will be over after getting blasted by most of the good teams they play -- bama, OU, USCe.

2015 is make or break for butch... and he still doesn't have a QB.

Agreed...even if we do get to 6-6 we probably have a few ugly losses along the way to upset the fringe fans.

Would be great for the program this season if one of Dobbs or Ferguson could step up and look to be the QB of the near future.

Should be a W, but it's still Ole Miss we're talking about so I wouldn't be at all surprised to lose this game. The things I've read about your defense don't sound very good, and that's something we could heavily exploit barring terrible line play. It's at home and I'd give is a 60% shot of winning.

I think most of the VOLS posters on this board are expecting us to make the jump in 2015. At that point Butch should have two full top 10 recruiting classes under his belt and nearly all of Dooley's players processed or buried on the depth chart.

Not to mention that a very large percentage of the freshmen Butch just signed will be in the two-deep this year. They'll have some growing pains this year but it should pay off in the long run imo.
