Committs from today's junior day were Ishmael Wilson and Johnny Jefferson. A&M had over 50 kids on campus today for their first JD. Reply Back to Top
Today was the second junior day, btw. 5/7 in the rivals 250 is damn good. The most encouraging thing so far is that we're doing damage in the trenches. We'll get piety of skill guys in '13. Must hold on to every in the trenches, which will be an unlikely achievement. Reply Back to Top
Unfortunately if LSU comes a calling then I think Wilson will switch over to them. Hope we have some time to solidify his commitment before then or hopefully they don't offer at all. Reply Back to Top

aTm really needs to advertise the SEC superiority when recruiting these kids. Texas is grabbing up all these good players (Swoopes, RSJ eventually) and they haven't been worth a shite in 2 years. As an Alabama fan I hope we beat aTm every year, but man I would love to see Texas struggle. Their fans were absolutely unbearable leading up to the 2009 title game. Talk about some entitled motherfrickers. Reply Back to Top
Swoopes and RSJ never even considered us in their process. Once we actually start playing in the SEC that will change and people will understand just how big a change we made but right now not much has changed in that regard. Reply Back to Top
What's the split, alumni wise, in the State of Texas between Texas and aTm? This post was edited on 2/18 at 6:41 pm Reply Back to Top
I'm not exactly sure. I would imagine it's close to 50/50. Both our enrollments are consistently around 50,000. Reply Back to Top
DB Victor Davis has committed. Victor Davis Reply Back to Top
RB Kyle Hicks has committed to Texas. Another good get for them. Kyle Hicks. This post was edited on 2/18 at 7:10 pm Reply Back to Top

quote: He still may but I don't think he will just because of LSU wanting to meet with him sometime this coming week. Good call on the LSU staff to see what was likely going to happen Reply Back to Top |
Claiborne was in attendance today and I was pretty surprised at that. Can't hurt. Reply Back to Top
Not statewide, but overall: The University of Texas -- 450,000 living alumni Texas A&M -- 330,000 living alumni Reply Back to Top
It shouldn't be a shock. He was going to visit anyway even after the LSU talk. They just did that in hopes he wouldn't commit this weekend before visiting with them Reply Back to Top
I just heard earlier in the week that he wasn't sure he was going to make it in this weekend. Reply Back to Top
quote: I'm sure you could draw your own conclusions from that data but I would imagine that Texas has more out of state alumni than A&M does. Probably by a wide margin also. Reply Back to Top |
Great start to 2013 recruiting. So far, the SEC move is paying off. Reply Back to Top Refresh
