If true, that's a huge numbers advantage for Texas.

I would think it's merely a function that The University of Texas was a much bigger school enrollment-wise until the past 30 years.

The University of North Texas has similar living alumni data to Texas A&M. UNT claims "more than 326,000" living alumni.

It's mainly because A&M had a significantly smaller enrollment until about the 70s and 80s. A lot of those Texas alumni are definitely of older age. If you were to somehow compare Alumni under the age of 50 you would get a more even #.

I guess you can't really feel bad, seeing as how Arizona and Arizona State haven't won shite ever and they are two of the top 5 colleges enrollment wise. I know Arizona State is the largest college in the country.

UTa has more alumni from A&M being a smaller university pre-1980's but both are about the same size now with A&M having more undergrads and UTa having more grad students.

I don't know what the split of alumni is in Texas but Ags are a lot more visible in the workplace.

I'm sure you could draw your own conclusions from that data but I would imagine that Texas has more out of state alumni than A&M does. Probably by a wide margin also.

You need to factor in current and retired military as well. If you do that, the split is probably 100:1 in favor of A&M.

In my year group (Army - 2000) alone, the split was 208:5

We're fine with respect to those two positions.

They have Swoopes who is not Vince Young, we have Kohl Stewart, a certifiable badass.

They have RSJ, a good athlete but not sure where he'll play, we have Derrick Griffin, who I'd much rather have at WR.

Swoopes/RSJ may have more star power, or the illusion thereof, but us having Stewart/Griffin instead is in no way any kind of loss on that front.

I agree DWAG. I'd rather have Stewart/Griffin. Only problem that could arise there is that Stewart will have a big opportunity to choose the baseball route and Griffin will have a big opportunity to choose the basketball route. If that were to happen then that would really put us in a bad spot. There is also rumors about Griffin having to go the JUCO route which would be a bad break for us.

Chalk Pearland RB James White up on the commits also. We should have some very talented players in the backfield for the next few years

You guys are rolling. Really like White. Do think some guys are reaches. Year from signing day though but maybe just padding numbers for the stretch when decommits happen.

I agree some are reaches. Namely Johnny Jefferson and Wiggins. Other than those two I really like all the guys we have committed.

It should be noted Derrick Griffin is a huge grade risk. He is currently ineligible for basketball this season due to grades. He needs to get a lot of work in the classroom done before he can think about qualifying
