Watch & Listen: LSU OL Coach Jeff Grimes 'Miked Up' During Practice

I think OLC Jeff Grimes does a great job especially recruiting and from a coaching stand point teaching OG's to be effective OT's in the SEC can't be that easy. But he manage to do it very well, now we had our problems against Alabama and Florida but as I recall so did everybody else. When Coach O cleaned house he kept Grimes so evidently he's doing something right, he got OT Austin Deculus 6'6" 331 lbs and OG Edward Ingram 6'4" 327 lbs to sign even when Alabama and Texas was going at them hard. And he got another big OG in Saahdiq Charles 6'5" 320 and a huge massive project in OT Seth Stewart 6'8" 320 lbs to sign. So looks like LSU O-Line is in real good shape and he's starting the class of 2018 real well early. GEAUX TIGERS!!!!!!!!!!!PURPLEREIGN???????????

I'd say Grimes knows what he's doing. I can't see big offensive linemen responding to someone screaming and getting up in their faces. I think the teaching approach is probably a better way to go with these guys. Position players are different. A little yelling and screaming has a different effect on them, in most cases. And I think KJ's first name is Karl. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Just from my military experience and it does correlate to football because of the teamwork portion. All leaders don't need to yell to have their team understand what to do. However, if you're referring to intensity in his coaching/teaching style, players/people feed off of that so it helps depending on what he's trying to do. Yelling all day doesn't accomplish anything from my experiences.

Don't know how I feel about that coaching style.
