LSU sophomore nose tackle Travonte Valentine has been dismissed from the team, the school announced Thursday.

This was his second stint with the Tigers.
quote:

Valentine, a sophomore from Hialeah, Florida, played in the first five games of the season for the Tigers, recording a total of 10 tackles. Valentine did not play in LSU’s final seven games.

“At this point in time, Travonte is no longer part of our football program,” Orgeron said. “We wish him the best.”
Valentine, a highly recruited four-star prospect from Palm Bay, FL, originally signed with LSU as part of the 2014 class but never played in a game due to ongoing eligibility issues.

He also reportedly failed multiple drug tests and missed an excessive amount of class after enrolling at LSU.

Valentine eventually transferred to Arizona Western Junior College but more off the field issues landed him at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College.

The 6-4, 356-pound tackle made his return to LSU during fall camp before the start of the 2016 season.

Even knowing it's difficult to change what kind of a person he really is, it still surprises me to see him squander a second opportunity, especially after how hard he and LSU fought to get back to this position during the off-season. What a waste of time on both ends. Guess he never really learned from his last dismissal, and possibly never will from this one.

You had it made bro. Aranda and the chance to start. All you had to do was go to class, lose weight and not be a moron. You failed at all those things. Thanks for the wasted breath.

He was a Les Miles guy all the way. Leslie was the one that had a hard on for him. I think Coach O saw right through his bs. Coach O had to try like hell to get him back bc Leslie wanted him back. But now that Coach O is in charge does not have to put up with his bs. It even looks like Coach O gave him a chance to screw once he became HC, otherwise he would have dismissed him long ago. Too bad the young man couldn't get it together and capitalize on any of his four opportunities.

Now maybe the rant can stop with the constant Valentine threads. Today's young people expect an infinite number of chances. That's not how it works.
