On a recent episode of "Always College Football," host Greg McElory gave LSU head coach Brian Kelly a 50-percent chance of winning the National Championship with the Tigers.
While the percentage might seem low, McElroy talked about how hard it is to actually win a national championship and said he thinks Kelly is a better coach than Les Miles and Ed Orgeron, who both won titles at LSU. Per Athlon Sports:

“I think Les Miles is a solid coach, I don’t think he’s elite. I think Ed Orgeron is a solid coach, I don’t think he’s elite. I think Brian Kelly is elite,” McElroy said. “That’s why I think the percentage chance that he will win a national championship at LSU is 50%. Now remember, people are going to hear that [and] they’re going to say ‘50%, I mean, that seems a little low, or perhaps seems a little high.’ Winning a national championship is outrageously difficult. Outrageously difficult.”
“So I think this place and the players that you have access to, is about as good as it gets. So I think Brian Kelly before he shuts it down at LSU, there’s a 50% chance that he wins a title.”
