During LSU's Spring Game last Saturday, head coach Brian Kelly talked with the ESPN broadcast about how different the team is since he took over in November of 2021. Per On3:
quote:

“I think they’re just at a point now where they understand what the standards are,” Kelly said. “It’s an attention to detail, it’s a laser focus, it’s every single day. This is hard.”

“If you want to compete for a championship in this league, you’ve got to be elite. And you can’t get by with just doing it at 90 percent,” Kelly said. “You’ve got to be at 100-plus all the time. So that constant attention to detail is what this team is a lot better at.”
LSU went 11-12 overall in the two seasons before Kelly was hired.

After back-to-back ten-win seasons during his first two years in Baton Rouge, Kelly and the Tigers want to compete for the Championship in 2024.

I wish he'd stop saying that this is hard all the time. The universe is gonna give you HARD if you believe that so strongly. Stop it.

That and NIL leveled the playing field. Now everyone can buy players just like Alabama had been doing. Saban realized his gimmick was up.

Kelly historically has always created the offense with the defense coming around by year 3 or 4. Once done, his consistency speaks for itself.
