Talented 2017 five-star linebacker/running back Dylan Moses has decommitted from LSU. He announced the news via Twitter Monday afternoon.
quote:

After talking to my parents, I've decided to decommit from LSU. This was a very tough decision but I think it was the right one for me. Two years ago I decided I wanted to commit to LSU bc it felt right. I felt like it was what I was expected to do. I have an awesome relationship with the staff. I love them because they treat me like family. My cousin (Corey Raymond) is on the coaching staff and I've built great relationships with Coach Miles, Coach Frank over the years. There's definitely LOVE there.

Because of this, LSU is my #1. After talking to my mom, I now realize that when you're truly committed to something, there's no room for others to compete. There shouldn't be any outside interest. I was younger and doing what I thought was right at the time. Now that I truly understand what being committed means, I want to think things through and make sure that the next time I commit, I will be signing a letter of intent and there will be no other schools in the mix.

I will be doing what's best for me versus what is expected of me. My plan now is focus on bettering myself as a high school student athlete, perfecting my craft and helping my teammates win another CHAMPIONSHIP.

Dylan Moses.

Have fun and enjoy the recruiting process, you only live it once.

Winning championships have very little to do with this. Bench players can "win" championships and be no namers. Kid is going to go where he will most likely be able to shine. LSU is stacked at RB and hurting at LB. All depends on what he wants to do as a career athlete. I think he'll be back.

I think the NCAA might want to change the language of recruitment. "Verbal commitment" really should mean "verbal intent" and "Letter of Intent" should mean "Letter of Commitment."

STRIPES you are a 30+ year old man. Calm down dude. This is a 16-17 year old kid and they don't have the world figured out. Maybe your "above it all" self was this prepared at that age, but the majority of kids are not.

Maybe he doesn't want to feel guilty about enjoying the process and he committed when he was like 14. All we need to do is hope that he rejoins the good guys when the time comes to sign the LOI's.

Me personally, I don't see him going anywhere but LSU.

What's the most nauseating is the comments commenting about not knowing what's more nauseating. Lol

I don't know which is more nauseating. The "commitment/decommitment" of some 17-18 year old kid and the routine that goes along with it or the silly fans who post the congratulatory bs "He is doing what's best for him" or "Good luck to the young man whatever he chooses". What a load of crap. As if any of you who don't know the kid are truly thinking of his best interest. In reality, the young man is a Baton Rouge kid who grew up on LSU's campus and has throngs of people in town who support him. Now where can he go and be treated like he would be treated right here in his hometown? Personally I don't know the young man but if he was my son this commitment bs would never occur because until you are ready to COMMIT simply DON'T.

He's got a lot of people in his ear right now telling him what's best for him. What you hope is that he realizes that, and that it's just a bunch of noise, what really matters is what's good for HIM and not "them" whoever "they" may be, and he goes with his heart in the end. Otherwise, if you end up listening to people, you'll end up living with regret.

Whatever he decides, I hope it's HE that makes the decision on what's best for him and not somebody else.

Why do we use the dumbass word committment still?

This does kind of suck. Wouldn't he still get the attention even if he's committed. He still gets all his visits. He still gets the non stop phone calls. I'm not sure what de committing does or how it's beneficial. Good luck to him and I hope he comes back to the light. We need every guy we can get with his character and intelligence. And he's a pretty good football player too.

Not a surprise at all. Looking forward to having him recommit though. He would be a great LSU Tiger.

Wise choice young man. You'll know where you belong when it is time.

He is just seeing all of his peers hit the recruiting trail and having a blast. He wants in on the action/attention.

He'll re-commit to LSU once he is finished.

Uh ok. Anyone who took his "commitment" seriously is naive. The kid has been taking visits all along and many of these kids nowdays think they are Gods gift to football and their word is meaningless. Whatever he does then good luck.
