Grand Valley State defensive tackle Jay'viar Suggs announced his commitment to LSU on Wednesday night.
The Tigers offered Suggs last week, right after he released his list of top schools that did not include LSU.
After receiving his offer, Suggs made LSU one of his top four schools and planned a visit to Baton Rouge this past Sunday. He committed to the Tigers over Michigan, Wisconsin, and Kentucky.
Suggs, a 6-3, 282-pound sophomore from Flint, Mich., registered 42 tackles, 14.5 tackles for a loss, 8.0 sacks, two forced fumbles, and nine passes defended over the last two seasons.
He will add much-needed depth to LSU's interior defensive line after the team lost Maason Smith, Mekhi Wingo, and Jordan Jefferson to the NFL Draft.
