If they opt out of the bowl game then they should have to sit a game or two the next year if they are still playing college. I can understand opting out if you are going pro.

FSU players opting out was the best thing for that program. They were gonna get their shite pushed in regardless, so at least this gives them an excuse to act like the game didn't count.

I really hate what this opting out crap and loss of importance of bowl games has done to CFB in general. It may be change, but it certainly isn’t change for the better. It’s a sad effect from all the emphasis being put upon playoffs, and if that’s the direction we’re going in, then increase the field substantially and just do away with bowls entirely.

I guess this settled the argument about FSU being left out.
