Princely Umanmielen transferred to Ole Miss after four seasons at Florida. He shed some light on the contrasting coaching tactics of those SEC programs...
quote:

"I feel like here I’m getting coached harder for things like that,” Umanmielen said. "I feel like at Florida, the way I was coached, it was kind of like, it was almost as if they was just telling me to go out there and use my talent, if that makes sense."

"They’re really on me about the little things," Umanmielen continued. "Attacking the run. Coach Lou really goes through the progressions of the drops and the routes that are being run when I have to go into coverage. When I was at Florida, they would just tell me go drop to this area, and I would have to figure everything else out on my own.

"But here, they go real into depth. I feel like I'm actually getting developed here."

I am not a fan of this. It is bad form. You never know when you may come across someone again and unless it was just rotten, why burn bridges?

Isn’t criticism the path to improvement? Does he not have an obligation to be honest since his opinion is relevant to other recruits?

I'm not a big fan of Sunbelt Billy but it's difficult to believe that his coaches weren't actually coaching.

Not true, and he doesn't run the defense.

LOL! This is absolutely WRONG. Most LSU fans were horrified that Napier MIGHT get a consideration for the LSU HC job. Fortunately, Napier was never seriously considered.

He was with that staff for 2 years and after a second year of it not working for him, he left. He seemed to do everything right. He gave them a chance, and it didn't work out. Glad the kid isn't an idiot like some of you here who would waste your time not getting top tier development.

But Sunbelt Billy is one of us and has a Saban like process and would be infinitely better than CBK.

Because they were not teaching he is a whiner. Good on him to find a better place.

So he’s and EDGE rusher and he’s happy they’re teaching him about coverage, progressions, and the route tree?

Well, this was bad advice from Ole Miss.

No one in the NFL wants a blamer or whiner. Coachability and self-leadership are key.
