Texas wins 8-6 in Game 1 of the DH
Texas lost game 1 of the series as usual
Game 2 of the DH starts in about 45 min
Big 12 Series
Game 1 (1-6)
Series (5-1) + result tonight
and the only series loss is BYU..
last in the conference

They may have even risen in the RPI.
Kentucky is currently 21-6 vs Q1 and Q2. A&M is 17-6.

Good thing for UK is they get to have a home series. A win vs Arkansas should do them good. Not sure they win game 1, but Kentucky should feel good about winning a series next weekend at home. If UK can score 5-6 runs, they should win. Hogs bats suck

Winning or sharing the conference titles has done us no favors nor has being ranked #1.
Hosting a regional is helpful and a super if we survive the regional is an important factor, but reaching Omaha is the goal. Well actually a natty is the ultimate goal.
Being in the best position to get there is what matters.
Good luck to everyone in contention, you never know what might happen, ole miss and msu for example.

That’s great and all but the #1 thing when judging a baseball resume is weekend series.
A&M has weekend wins over Vandy, Bama, UofSC, Georgia, & Miss St.
Kentucky has weekend wins over Georgia & Bama.

Texas keeps winning weekend series but our RPI is horrible.. if we hold on to this OU game, we will be 6-1 in Big 12 series.. but our RPI is currently at 78.. truly a strange team..
I’m thinking we might have to win the Big 12 tournament to get in..

Sometimes a high conference finish will get the committee to overlook a suspect RPI, but the overall tough year for the Big XII might not result in say a 2nd place finish being given the same kind of consideration it might get most years. I wouldn't bet against Texas making the field, but I have to think that ESPN will be calling up asking if they can have a reaction camera there during the selection show, which is not always a good thing.
