*** BREAKING NEWS ***

Alabama has been kind of good at football.

You are either insecure or an alter. Which one is it?

Actually that's not the narrative here on this board esp. amongst LSU fans. According to them, without Saban we're just another football program.

This. Purdue is solid most years but that record likely speaks more to their competition. Same for a few others on the list. Miami might be one of the few where you just say ok because you know they’re loaded with talent even when they suck and my guess would be the majority of that record is against another Florida team and so in state rivals.

Saban is responsible for 9 of those wins against AP No 1 teams. Crazy stat.

Looking at this, 1-7 shouldn't make me feel better about our team, but somehow it does...

Coach Saban's old team was looking for an upset. Instead, they got taken to the proverbial woodshed. I still remember Coach Saban's face when he put in Eddie Lacy and he took it to the house late in the game. The man hated to run up the score.

One of the funniest Saban moments all time was when the MSU starting QB (who was 11-1 going into that game) asked coach right after the game how his team could have lost 3 games, and Saban responded “How did you win 11?”

Non-alter UT fans stopped thinking they were relevant after losing for a decade and a half…straight.

LSU and AU fans still think they are somehow 1 coaching hire away from being even with Bama for the next 2 decades, and LSU are by far the most vocal about it right now (mainly due to AU fans having largely crawled into a hole after 3 straight losing seasons).

Some fan bases just don’t seem to understand reality, and they make sure everyone else can see how clueless they truly are.

I'd also bet a lot of those games were against Notre Dame back in the day.

It is probably hard for some to believe but Purdue-Notre Dame was a huge early season rivalry and was on the national radar back then.

Nick Saban is 9-4 against #1 teams.

Which means Bama is 2-2 per Saban.

All this stat proves is there is Saban and then everyone else.

Would be interesting to see the stats of LSU, Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, and Auburn if you removed the Bryant and Saban years. A number of their losses are attributed to Bama. For that matter, the entirety of the SEC is in the same boat.
