Technically, you're right about 2014 but the game in 2015 was a pure fluke. We all know it.

The question is does Freeze still have it, and after the Barn's QB play last season, I don't think he does.
I actually expect Thorne to improve this season because he actually has people he can throw the ball to that can be counted on to haul it in for a change.
He’s good for a dumb decision or two per game but so much of his poor play was because we were basically fielding a squad of middling transfer portal guys at receiver last year.

CBK made it to atlanta in year 1 at LSU after inheriting a roster with under 40 scholarship players. Took tigers from worst to SECCG year 1.
Give me a break dude.

This isn't as big a deal as you think.
UGA brought in 28 recruits and 10 transfers. With 38 new players coming in on scholarship, that means UGA will only be retaining 47 scholarship players from last year's roster.
Ole Miss brought in 22 recruits and 22 transfers. 44 incoming scholarship players. 41 scholarship players from the prior year.
Alabama brought in 28 recruits and 15 transfers. 43 incoming scholarship players. 42 from the prior year.
LSU's first year wasn't the hardship you put forward. It's pretty typical for teams now.

Was it really 40? If so, how does that compare to a normal year?

He is part of the problem. Kid can’t hit side if a barn at times. Why do you think best RB in SEC left. In todays football the passing game opens up running game.
You must not have watched any Gator games last year. Mertz completed 73% of his passes with 20 TDs and only 3 Ints behind a pathetic pass blocking OLine and with the running back you mentioned that transferred, that couldn't pick up a blitz if his life depended on it.

I still don’t understand this perspective. Anyone who follows recruiting know they’re pretty loaded. Easily the best D since Gerald McCoy was there. They actually have depth to alleviate injury problems. The WR core will be easily one of the best in the country. The only question mark is the OL.
It’s funny that ppl shite on Arnold bc he was 10/20 but most of the incompletions were him throwing it away in the Spring game.
I genuinely want to know why OU is being considered average.

It was a big deal three years ago, You talking about two coaches that are imbedded and settled in their current situation. CBK was a 1st year coach at LSU.

It was under 40. The portal wasn't as active back then.

Welcome to the SEC. Where OU has been used to being the top or at worst #2 most talented team in their conference. You are now somewhere between 5th to 7th most talented.

That’s a fit point but they had time to establish a culture and process that got them to the point of churning out good players. Kelly walking in with 38 scholarship players he didn’t know, recruit, or even want. If you want to play that card look at Deion Sandwrs. He went the full cut and rebuild process and that might’ve led to hype but the buffs still sucked last year at the end of the day. Kelly is a good coach. Not saying he will win a NC although I put belief in him that he will. He will bring stability and culture Atleast though. Outside of Kirby, I couldn’t say that I’d want a different coach rn. No one else is head above heels building a well oiled machine like Kirby

Well I hope you keep this perspective bc you’re most likely going to be eating a whole plate of crow. I don’t post much but I do like to read tRant and it will be funny watching a lot of you feeling foolish.

Do you follow recruiting? Bama/UGA/Texas/LSU almost always out recruit OU. ATM does as well. UF does on occasion.
Sorry if it’s hard to accept, but being “top 10” in recruiting isn’t gonna cut it. You will need to be top 2 or 3 if you want to be “loaded” in this conference.
