LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels should be signing a four-year, fully guaranteed $37.7M contract with the Washington Commanders, according to Spotrac.

The contract will include a $24.2M signing bonus and a 5th-year option in 2028.

I wish I could find the dumbass that sits behind me in section 243 who complained during almost every home game that JD5 sucks and wouldn’t get drafted high. I kept quiet during all his rants and just grinned at the stupidity but I’d like to hear what he’s saying now.

He'll probably get more than that in endorsements.

Very proud of our boy. He fought through a ton of adversity to get here and worked his arse off to get better. You could see the flashes in his game when he came here, but he really picked it up last year

Take that money and give it to Latrell Sprewell to invest.

He turned down a $21.4 mil contract at end of his career because he said "It's not enough to feed my family". Like $40 mil today. Ended up never getting another contract and is now BK. At BK court, he pleaded to not give up his yacht.

No doubt in my mind this dude wasted money on the most stupid shite.

I remember that, it was after the choked Carlisimo.

What I'd do is immediately buy a house and car (not super luxurious). Then put half in highest bonds or savings account and the other half I'd put in the S&P 500. Might make 5-6% a year on that. Right off the bat is $24 mil, which would be over $1 mil to $1.5 mil a year on just interest on solely the signing bonus. Easily live off the interest rest of life.

My poor arse can't afford low returns of bonds, savings accounts, and S&P 500. I got to go the SMCI and NVDA route to try to maximize

Market has been averaging 10+%. Unless you’re old and can’t risk a downturn, all in the market. Compound that interest as long as possible.

You clearly shouldn't give any financial advice to anyone. Ever.

Is the $24 mil apart of the $37 mil or is it $61 combined over 4 years?
user avatar
Heaphus20 days
It's part of the $37.7 mil total.

It clearly says a 37 million contract with a 24 million signing bonus...not hard to decipher, contract number totals ALWAYS include signing bonuses

Well, he said he is a poor arse therefore doesn't know jack about income taxes nor the handouts most of these athletes give away to family and friends.
