This is being discussed at all levels of baseball. So many needless injuries because two people going after the same 17inch bag. Especially when the pitcher is running to cover.

Makes the awkward dropped 3rd strike a much more routine play. Many people think dropped 3rd strike is a bad rule, at least make the throw easier.

Might as well give the players tampons too

I can't remember ever seeing an injury because of there only being 1 bag for 1st base.

I always hated drop third strike. It’s a live ball if base runners want to go they can go but the batter should be out

100%. Stupid rule. If a batter swings, he’s out.

So what happens if the batter runs inside the line on a bunt, touches the white bag and the ball gets thrown away. Does he only need to touch the green bag before advancing all the way to second/third? Could get ugly if you can now interfere and only have to go back and touch green before go!!

Is the rule 7-11 still in play and the B-R interference supposed maintain the runner's path to the green bag?

Why wait until post-season? Try this at the beginning of the season for OOC home games.

I believe Texas A&M used it during their non conf games

Bout time. No sense in risking unnecessary injury

God forbid we just play the game by the rules. A good, fundamental throw alleviates this concern entirely.

I saw an adult kickball game on ESPN, and they had the double first base but without alt the caveats, just touch it anywhere, and it counts.

I’d prefer leave it the same or do like kickball. Don’t further complicate the rules. Did he touch the white or the black? Here we go with more reviews and bullshite.

One thing that concerns me is how is the runner supposed to know what side the catcher is going to throw to

I think this will confuse a lot of players, you don’t introduce shite like this in a championship tournament.

It’s not that complicated. When running, step on the white base. Only exists at 1st base where all the injuries seem to happen.

Baseball rules are confusing enough. The dropped 3rd strike is a dumb rule anyway. Why go to all this trouble to correct a really dumb rule.

Why do they have to muddy this shite up with two bases? Do the bases HAVE to be square? Why can’t they just make the base wider and extend into foul territory for the runner? Leave the rules the same, you just give the runner more room.

Seems like a completely unnecessary overreach.

I’m digesting this… shouldn’t we just make the bag bigger/longer?

We lost a good player running to first in this tournament. Wasted at an insignificant event. Make it single elimination and get the heck out.
