Brady Cook wont be 1st team all SEC or anything but he is probably going to be better than what he is "rated." heading into the season.

He was my second pick for underrated

You should change your name to fire Napier. Y’all are right up there with Colorado rn so I don’t get your credibility either

I don’t think Nussmeier is overrated. Not many people mention him nationally and I would say the LSU fanbase has been pretty tough on him. He has the talent but can he make the right decisions?

You must not have watched any Gator games last year. Mertz completed 73% of his passes with 20 TDs and only 3 Ints behind a pathetic pass blocking OLine and with the running back you mentioned that transferred, that couldn't pick up a blitz if his life depended on it.

Exactly my point
I think this dude has a long career in the NFL if put in the right situation. Not super athletic or great at any one thing, but he’s accurate and smart. Love the way he takes care of the football

On the other hand, many fans of other SEC teams view him more as a game manager rather than a difference maker at QB.

I don’t listen to the fans on here giving opinions, but I think the experts have him pegged about right. I think he’s as good of a quarterback as anyone this season. Top 5 at least. If UGA can replace Mchonkey and Bowers with some decent production, I think they’re the overwhelming favorites to win it all this season.

Does anyone have the average depth of target for Mertz?

I saw numbers last season which were very bad. But the season wasn't over. And maybe he improved as the year went along.

I would put zero weight on the first half of the season if the second half improved. But for most offenses... the first half of the season may be the full season trend.

Milroe is by far the most over rated. He wants to win the job on being nice and social politics.

He beat Alabama back-to-back years with 2 QBs whose total NFL stats are 1x QB kneel for a 1 yard loss.

The question is does Freeze still have it, and after the Barn's QB play last season, I don't think he does.

To act like Freeze pre-hookers was only successful because Ole Miss was paying players is dumb tho.

The first game was more of a defensive win, holding Alabama to less than 20 and 7 of that came from Alabama's defense. Alabama's offense struggled at times under Sims especially early in the season.

Alabama turned the ball over like 5 times against in the 2nd game, had a ball bounce off a guys helmet and land into the arms of a receiver, etc. And they still almost lost the game.

I guess I went with him mainly because of Josh Pate’s quarterback room ranking of 9/10 is why I say he’s overrated, at this point. That being said, I wouldn’t be surprised if he earned that kind of rating this season. He has the tools, but I agree with you on his decision making. Too many pics so far.

Milroe

I think Milroe is underrated on this platform, and maybe a little overrated by the talking heads. I do think he’ll have a much better season this season with a better center and play caller

I think he proves you wrong again this season. You and Shaft were way too hard on him being a first year starter. He’s got to improve on getting rid of the football or taking off quicker, but I think he will with better play calling and he’ll also have better snaps this season(hopefully). I won’t be surprised if he’s a Heisman finalist and has us back deep in the playoffs.

I don’t, but he threw for almost 3,000 yards and 20 Tds in 11 games. He’s a good quarterback

Early in the year, his average depth of target was 7 yards.
And half of his total yards were after the catch.

It kind of plays into the high completion percentage and low interception totals.

It was bad, mid-season. Real bad.
But I would give him the benefit of the doubt if they opened up the playbook for him in the second half.

That is why the stat is relevant.
Because based on the first half of the year, Mertz is extremely pedestrian.

Garret Nussmeier is my pick for most overrated.

On pretty much any preseason list that’s been published, he’s typically in the bottom half of the SEC. Is that overrated?

I saw Aday. He isn't much better than last year. Simpson outplayed him and has a higher ceiling. Simpson is the QB of the future. Don't waste any more time on Milroe.

I’m a big fan of Simpson and I wouldn’t mind seeing him start, but if this coaching staff and the last coaching staff say Milroe is the better quarterback, then I’ve got to give them the benefit of the doubt. I’d say Deboer and Coach Saban know a little more about these guys than FowTownBam and Opry does, but maybe not

This board doesn't understand what the term "overrated" actually means.

Josh Pate said your quarterback room is a 9/10. That’s overrated

You didn't say anything about the quarterback room being overrated, you said Nussmeier is overrated.
