I grew up in Matthews, a small, unincorporated community off of Old Pike Road about 20 min outside of the Montgomery, and if you like country living, its great out there. I absolutely did not appreciate it enough growing up, but would be in heaven there now as an adult.

I drove from Pensacola to the northeast side of lake martin on Saturday, and made a stop at some ball fields in Millbrook to see my niece play softball. I thought about how nice and pretty the countryside is on the drive from Millbrook to 280 in Alexander City. Different strokes I suppose. ...
