When the Wall Street Journal runs a story about how crappy an umpire he is, it shows you that something's wrong. That came out on May 24. I wonder if it pushed him over the line. Some of his peers in that story went overboard on how fine a man he is off the field, he's apparently actively and ser...
He enjoyed his time on this planet. Can't beat that for an epitaph....
Maybe this fool just has trouble defending against bunts. Perhaps the Brewers were aware of that? Although there was a famous incident in 1965 when Lou Brock, who played the game aggressively, bunted a couple of times for hits against Sandy Koufax, who may have had the left arm of God but was a m...
I don’t think this has anything to do with the “unwritten rules” of baseball. It has to do with this pitcher being an arse. Bunting in a lopsided game maybe, or even bunting to break up a no-hitter although you would expect a defense to be aware of that. But a 2-1 game? Ain’t no “unwritten rule” I k...

I had to look it up to remind me that Blaney won the 600 last year. An Indy 500 winner is assured of a place in history. I concede that NASCAR, as fricked up as it is, is the healthier overall racing series. Indy still reigns supreme as an event....

If he were to win Indy, it would absolutely be to NASCAR’s benefit from a PR standpoint. I think a waiver would be a no brainer for them. Of course it’s NASCAR …...

OK Larson is locked into the Chase, correct? Flame away, but if it’s me, if rain disrupts Indy I am staying there and blowing off Charlotte. How many friggin’ chances do you have to get your face on the Borg-Warner?...
I so so so so so wish there was a way to block people here. Or better yet that the denizens of this site’s cesspool, aka the politics board, would keep such discussions there. (I don’t call it a cesspool for partisan reasons, I don’t discuss politics or religion online because it’s my business and n...
Like I said above, I think the only responsibility the PGA Tour or any other sports organization should rightfully have in a situation like this is to facilitate an athlete getting help if he or she seeks it. Doing welfare checks is something friends and family should handle. Honestly, could anyo...
From Golf.Com: “In 2017, his rookie season on Tour, Murray invited a Playboy model to caddie for him at the Masters Par-3 Contest (Murray failed to qualify for the Masters so the stunt never had a chance to materialize); fired a caddie mid-round; and apologized for an inappropriate tweet he sent ...
Nope. Not sitting in judgment of the guy for that, someone just said he’d griped about the PGA so I tracked down his actual gripe and shared it for discussion purposes, and it has stirred discussion. ...
Yeah … there’s help as in “we will facilitate getting you into treatment so that you can address your problem.” IMO it is not out of line to expect the PGA or any other sports organization to do that. Hand holding or a shoulder to lean on or even cry on while the problem is being addressed? Bridge t...
He said that on Twitter. This is the direct quote: [i]“No the pga tour didn’t force me to drink. But the pga tour never gave me help. In my 5 years of experience of being on tour not once have i ever had a request been acknowledged by the commissioner or the PAC other than ‘we will get back to yo...
Absolutely. None of us is guaranteed the next 5 minutes but checking out at 30 is horrible. Prayers to his friends and family. ...
Given the fact that this guy had a history of alcoholism and anxiety and depression and withdrew from the tournament the way he did, I am really fearful of where this might be going …...

This is what people need to realize about the particular subject matter that is being discussed in this thread ... and I'm not saying I like it, I rather dislike it, but it's reality, it just "is" ... NASCAR was created, has existed for 76 years and will continue to exist until the current ownership...

Nope. Didn’t they fine Keselowski once for criticizing them to the press?...

He is absolutely right. But again, he’s really stepped in it with the folks in the home office in Daytona by saying that and don’t be surprised if he catches some grief from them. ...
