Pretty simple to me, the Catholic church cares more about donations than adhering to Catholic doctrine, been that way for years. They know many would leave the church if they didn't alter some of the message and they don't want to lose the money those people would give....

Like most of what he said. He's been very vocal about his beliefs for years this won't be a surprise to his team mates and coaches. As for his play on the field he's been pretty damn clutch in high pressure situations....
