I think CBS will pick A&M/Ole Miss for the 2:30 game next week.

And then LSU-Bama for the night game. The reason is that UGA will meet its quota of CBS games if the Mizzou game is picked. I think CBS would rather pick the Ole Miss/UGA game the following week

1) I see people reference this all the time but have never seen it in writing. Is this documented anywhere you can link me? Not saying you're wrong, I've just never seen it although it's repeated constantly.

2) Since this is the last year of our CBS contract I have a feeling that it won't really matter if they ditch that guideline.

Wooow good point. They probably want to get the UGA-Tennessee game

Doesn't ESPN get the #2 pick when CBS uses their #1 pick on a night game? I feel like I remember that the days CBS has 2 games (either the 12/330 split or the 330/night split) that the CBS #2 game falls down the pecking order.

UGA-Ole Miss is another huge game no one is talking about later in the season.

UGA Mizery will probrably be a nooner. Would be a shame because it is a pretty big game this year...

That would be a poor gamble on CBS’ part seeing as UGA-Ole Miss will be a battle of teams competing for 2nd place in their divisions. After Mizzou beats UGA, the path to Atlanta runs through Columbia, MO

There is a quota, but CBS also gets to claim a certain number of exceptions over the life of the contract. This is the last year of the contract, and they have several to use, so it wouldn't surprise me if they used one here, unless they want to be like RC Slocum taking unused timeouts to the grave.

That means Texas A&M will have played three CBS games by the first week of November. Is it just me or does anybody find that ridiculous? By comparison, LSU hasn't even played a single game on CBS this year and they're a top 15 team that won the SEC West last season.

7-1 Mizzou vs. 8-0 UGA for the 11:00 AM slot? Makes sense.

Dumb decision on CBS part. This means that CBS can't have Ole Miss/UGA at 3:30 the next week. That means LSU/Florida is likely in that spot.

I'll ask again...is there anywhere that is actually referenceable? Or do people just repeat it in an echo chamber because they heard it elsewhere?

I highly, highly doubt that neither one of the UGA/Ole Miss or UGA/UT games will be on CBS.

I don't have a link but its true. They can't showcase one team that many times, its in the contract
