Why can't you guys just admit Heupel runs a genius system on offense? Is it that difficult lol

Is Heupel coaching in the NFL?

He's not.

However, in order to win the SEC at a consistent and high level you need NFL-caliber talent at your program. When that talent continuously sees players fail to develop and get taken high in the draft, they will take their talents somewhere else.

2 touchdowns against Georgia in the last 2 years

Wide splits and quick tempo and that's it.

and just 5 total outside runs

Mickey Mouse offense. "

Yep. An offense predicated on snapping the ball before the defense has lined up after the previous play will see short-term success. Defenses will eventually learn to adjust to the tempo, however, and recognize the reads the QB is making, thus taking them away, and forcing quick three-and-outs.

This is a pretty shite take. In the 3 drafts prior to Heupel's arrival, the Vols had 4 players drafted. In the 3 seasons since he's been here, they've had 13 players drafted. That includes a top-10 pick on offense, and 4 skill players taken in the first half of the 3rd round. That's with him taking over a complete dumpster fire. The narrative that players aren't getting developed under Heupel is weak.

He's an offensive coach and he's had a grand total of 0 skill position players taken in the first round since he's been at Tennessee.

Here is what you guys don't understand.... Heupel's offense demands an extremely quick thinking cerebral QB to actually run well.

We had one of the lowest football IQ QBs in the nation last year though and a green crop of WRs to work with.

I don't know how many Tennessee games you guys watched but every single snap we would have to slow down our offense while Milton stares over at the coaches trying to figure out the correct play giving the defense plenty of time to line up correctly to take advantage of his inaccurate slow release bad decision passes.

Worst starting Tennessee QB since JG easily.

Imagine Milton 's stat sheet if Pruitt or Butch were his coach..... yikes. Heupel actually made his stat line look somewhat respectable. That in itself is a huge feat.

If Hype was a genius then why was Milton the same Qb as he was when he started before Hooker.

Why did it take a whole season to start Nico over the low IQ Milton.
