asking people to spend premium six-pack price kinda money on a single 10oz bottle is too much

Agreed, and I meant as more of an out-with-friends or a special occasion thing, definitely not a session beer.

Speaking of, we've got a local can that will get you hammered for $3 each (and that's a bar price).

This is one of my favorite colder-season session beers:

In terms of Alabama, Trimtab probably has the most collabs and experimentals with other breweries, which is really cool, but invariably you'll find something you really like only to never see it again.

Y'all ever tried anything from around here?

I drink Keystone Light nearly every day. In college my room mate's family owned one of the biggest Coors distributors in Texas and I had an unlimited supply of Coors Light. After college and no more free beer I switched to Keystone because it was cheaper and stayed with it.

National brand I prefer Corona.

I do not get the recent popularity of the local brewers , most of those beers taste like crap to me.

I did enjoy the Abita Strawberry Lager when I had that.

Guinness (not foreign extra stout) by default. Boddingtons to change it up. I can't tell you my favorite beer (Irish) otherwise I might be identified locally.

Busch Light. Great for all seasons unless it’s freezing cold out which isn’t much of a factor in Texas. Sold almost exclusively by the 30 pack(the way it was intended to consume). Drink 20, stay hydrated. Takes more than 20 to get a debilitating hangover, but that might just be the whisky coming out after midnight. The standard-sized can easily fits most coozies or holders. It’s also not just for the pool or patio. It does great on the lawn mower, on the river, or as a roadie. Also, women can drink it if they run out of cocktails, wine, or white claw and it’s not a big deal bumming it because it’s $20 for a 30 pack.

If I had to choose my favorites, I've got a few in mind.. Mostly because of nostalgia though, not necessarily taste.
Belikin- good times in Belize.
Abita Amber- GREAT times in New Orleans..
There used to be this brewery in Mammoth Lakes, California that had a number of beers that were all some of the best I've ever tasted.. Sadly, no longer there.
And of course, High Life

Never heard of it, but I know what you mean. Most associate Denmark with Carlsberg, but I prefer a brand there called Tuborg because I drank it a lot in Copenhagen. Probably tastes like shite (in reality), but I've never been able to find it back over here.

That "experience" factor is a huge component, IMO.

Just a sip of an old-school domestic beer like Old Milwaukee, Hamm’s, Schlitz, Stroh’s, etc. takes me wayyy back to a different time and place.

Keystone is underrated, it was my Katrina beer. I've been hardcore anti Bud since I was teenager and learned about Jane Fonda back in the day. It helps that most Anheuser Busch products taste like rice brewed trash.

For beers I actually want to taste, stouts and porters all the way. If you order a Ghost in the Machine at the bar, I'm moving away from you if I have space. That smells like pushups and laundry rooms, not something I have fun drinking.
