If we have a rim protector i could see Oats really liking Nelson and Stevenson floating between 3 and 4.

The defensive strategy mirrors the offensive strategy. We want to force those inefficient mid range shots. With a strong post, you can have those longed armed guys running shooters off the 3 line and getting out for a fast break. It wont work against every matchup but it would stress some teams. I think both Nelson and Stevenson have enough of a handle to really be trouble on a fast break.

Cons to that is Foul... When one of them get in foul trouble.. who's going to step up and continue that? Who's to say stevenson would see lot of playing time?

Perhaps the Best Center in the Class of 2024 is Derik Queen. His low post offense is already ready to play in college basketball. Sherrell cannot defend Queen at all.

The most overrated player in the 2024 class is Isaiah Evans. He can't defend. And he's the type of player that needs to attempt 30+ shots.

We didn’t have a single big on the roster that could really defend legit bigs last year either. If Sherrell can’t do it then it’s hope you find one in the portal or hope you can make an ungodly amount of 3s.

I think Sherrell will develop into a good defender, but I don't think he'll show up as a great rim protector right away next season. But he can attempt a perimeter shot.

I'm not sure if everyone remembers, but Bediako had numerous issues his freshman season. He has moments where he was incredible, but plenty of freshmen moments too.

The niche Tide Hoops Twitter celebrities are all tweeting pictures of Nelson, hinting that he’s returning. Barely worth more than “my buddy has a friend that works the nutrition bar at the practice facility” but thought I’d pass in on

Thus the sobriquet “Angry Chuck”. When he flipped the switch, he was what we hoped he could be.

It’s because of what Mac92 posted on BOL, he’s usually right.

Here’s some of what he said.

quote:

Right now I feel pretty good about Grant coming back for another year.

He said this about Cliff

quote:

Believe Cliff will visit bama.

Seems like we are all in with NIL. You love to see it. I mean it's totally fricking up college sports, but it's not going away so we might as well be good at it.

Mac also says we will get a big but the prices have gotten outrageous and he doesn’t believe this is sustainable for college athletics.

If so, there is a high probability that you will lose either Stevenson or Mo D or both.

PG: Sears? / Holloway
SG: Wrightsell / Mallette
SF: Youngblood / Dioubate / Cunningham
PF: Nelson? / Reid
C: Stevenson / Sherrell

Am I missing anyone? It’s tough to keep up.

If, and it’s a big if, Sears and Nelson are back that is a roster no one is going to want to deal with next year.

I dont think Stevenson would transfer because Nelson was coming back, not sure about Mo D.

I don't know how much Stevenson will develop this summer, but I don't think he'll be able to defend Big next season.
