I always considered Oklahoma as part Midwest, part Great Plains -panhandle part. Not geographically West, although very close at the west edge. Southwest would be West Texas, NM, AZ and Southern Cal.

Missouri is entirely Midwest.

You would be off by a bit. A simple rule. In Missouri...

If south/southeast of I-44 you are in Missour-UH... That is southern. Between I-44 and I-70 is kind of transitional. North of I-70 is no longer southern...

Although the Missouri river valley was the most "southern" part of the state in antebellum days. "Little Dixie".... Columbia was a Yankee town surrounded by southern sympathizers during the war. Thus the "Missouri Tigers" home guard.

Oklahoma is the same way I-44 south/southeast is southern. I-44 to I-35 north of that line is transitional. NW of I-35 and I-40 is plains. South of I-40 is southern and Texan southern. Southeast Oklahoma and south central Oklahoma are called "Little Dixie" as well.
