Austrian Economic theory posits that free trade between countries makes both countries richer, and it’s true. However, when one country is using predatory exchange rate policies, when those policies are causing them to monopolize critical defense production, and when that country is your enemy, it must be stopped. To Donald Trump’s everlasting credit, he saw these things before anyone else in Washington.
We may sometimes disagree but it’s a credit to you that you are able to be objective.
Tribalism isn’t going to prevent the catastrophe that is barreling towards the western establishment. Realistically the valid concerns being raised on the right AND left will require an acknowledgment that the current setup needs to be tweaked and unless people wake up to the fact that many of the issues that brought Trump to power are the same issues that are giving rise to Bernie Sanders on the left.
It doesn’t mean that I agree with Bernie’s solutions, but if the problems weren’t real he wouldn’t have his base and the same is true for Trump.
-College IS far too expensive and offers far too little ROI currently.
-There are far too few livable wage jobs to support the American dream for the middle class right now.
-Health care is far too expensive and needs to be addressed so that basic levels of care can be provided for everyone
-Congress is hopelessly inept and institutionally corrupt.
I support Trump for 2024 yet I have to wonder how many more people would support his message if it were being delivered by someone who sounded like Barack Obama instead of via angry tweets. I legitimately think that candidate might lock up a 60% vote total.

Bingo! This is exactly what happened in the first election I ever voted - Ronald Reagan said all the right things in all the right ways, and he was able to change the world.
A lot of people say our current problems stem from some of those changes, and it’s true, but Reagan can’t be held responsible for future leaders’ failures to adapt. His policies gave us a 40 year wave to ride. That’s as good as it gets.

Exactly. This election would be a layup if not for Trump's propensity to chase only those that think and communicate at a 6th grade level.
