Good list. We didn't start our softball program until 1997, but hopefully we can keep moving up the list..

OU's program is ridiculous.. I expect that lead to grow.

That's surprising Oklahoma is that far behind UCLA given their last 10 years alone. I don't follow softball very closely but i guess ucla went on a hell of a run at some point.

Any time someone makes up an arbitrary points system, then proceeds to do math with it, an engineer dies inside.

LSU could have been a few spots higher, but our coach is the master of winning 40 games, regional/super regional (no WCWS), no sec titles, and Torina being a very likable person.

LSU has a top 5 facility and pays her a top 5 salary.

Just for reference, the WCWS has only been held since 1982. That's 41 years. UCLA has won almost 1/3 of all the titles (12). Arizona is next (8) followed by Oklahoma (7).

1. UCLA - 12
2. Arizona - 8
3. Oklahoma - 7
4. Arizona State, Florida, Texas A&M - 2

7. Alabama, California, California-St. Fullerton, Florida State, Fresno State, Michigan, Washington - 1

That's all, folks.

It's hard to take a sport seriously when if a team is up by 5 runs or down by 5 runs the players will be in the dugouts acting like 11 year-olds at a slumber party.

Great post, OP.

This is a sport where the SEC is going to leave every other conference in the dust. Besides adding OU and Texas, as noted, the Pac used to be the best conference, but now that conference has been blown apart and UCLA, Arizona and Washington are going to lose out on the best recruits. What great player wants to fly all the way across the country to play against Rutgers, Indiana, West Virginia, Cincinnati, etc.? The best softball players are all coming to the SEC from now on.

I know State is at the bottom but we have been pretty good over the recent years.
We are no longer an easy win for any team and we can beat just about anybody not named Oklahoma in the present day.

Florida started their program in 1997. FSU started theirs in 1979.
