Going on 8 years of being under Trumps heel with every candidate they trot out getting smashed.
Their only joy coming from Joe fricking Biden winning an election filled with cheating.
I remember the threads last year. Oh so hopeful! The polls were showing Trump would struggle to get the nomination!
Now they are back in the corner “Trump isn’t a conservative because I said so!!!!” silently rejoicing over any weaponized lawfare and political prosecution.
fricking eternal losers

All the Romney Republicans were praying for Nikki Haley to somehow get the nomination. They were giddy at the prospect of a Republican president whose foreign policy and immigration policy would be exactly the same as Biden's.

Donald Trump is a multi-time failed business man who parlayed a caricature of himself he created for a reality TV into become a political candidate. He’s the reaping of the wedge issue politics Republicans have sowed for years. Full of sound and fury, but in the end signifying nothing.
While he may wrap himself in the flag and claim he’s America first, in reality he believes in nothing but Donald Trump first. He has no respect for the rule of law or the institutions that make our country great.
I’m not sure what is the saddest - the Republicans who initially called Trump out for what he was but now show fealty and kiss the ring, or the ones who are actually delusional enough to believe in him in the first place.

Trump is not a conservative. He never was.
He is not a social conservative. He hires whores, was always pro-life until it was politically inconvenient, has no religious values, etc.
He is not a fiscal conservative. He supports increased spending, debt accumulation, and government involvement in industry. He built his empire on subsidies and tax manipulation.

I agree, next in line are the evangelicals that believe Trump is some beacon of God's virtue. Both sides are oblivious to reality.
The most realistic take is that Trump is a businessman whose ideals (some of which were borrowed from Ron Paul) are a good recipe for America having a more measured domestic and foreign policy going forward.
The current establishment in DC has a sole focus of keeping their own gravy trains rolling in. Whether it be alternative energy initiatives, defense contracts, whatever, they are all bought and paid for by constituencies that answer to the dollar and not the people.
