Washington Redskins head coach Jay Gruden announced on Wednesday that Colt McCoy will start over Robert Griffin III at quarterback on Sunday against the Colts. Per ESPN:

A Redskins player texted the following to ESPN's Josina Anderson on Wednesday morning, after the Griffin benching was announced: "Production league. No production, gotta move on."

On Monday, Gruden said he intended to start Griffin against the Colts but never committed to it.

This move represents yet another turn for Griffin and the Redskins. As a rookie, he threw for 3,200 yards and rushed for 815 as the Redskins won their first NFC East title since 1999.
