With his 28 carries for 133 yards today, Zac Stacy has become one of 3 St. Louis Rams rookies (the others being Eric Dickerson and Jerome Bettis) to ever rush for 800+ yards in a single season. Zac only had 1 carry for 4 yards through week 4. He has since been the main back and carried 202 times for 854 yards. He has also scored 6 of the Rams' 8 rushing TDs this year. The former Black and Gold back is looking just as good or better in Blue and Gold.

With a little luck he may yet break 1,000 this season!

Yep, Jerome was a Ram from 1993-1996 when he was traded for a 3rd round pick to the Steelers because the Rams' coach wanted Jerome to be a FB in a pass-heavy offense.

As for a 1,000 yard season, I think he has a good chance. The Rams have the Buccaneers and Seahawks. He could easily get 100 versus the Bucs and 50 versus the Seahawks.

I believe Zac Stacy set a team rookie record for yards in the first half, meaning he beat out both Dickerson and Bettis. The man is a phenom. It was one of the rare games that my Saints and Commodores fandoms collided. I love seeing Stacy excel. Not least because I've had him on my fantasy team since Week 4. He's dominant.

Yeah, he had 1 carry for 4 yards through 4 weeks then Fisher finally decided to let him have a go at it, and he has beasted it up. Now...just imagine JMatt joining him alongside a healthy Bradford. THAT could be epic.

Saw an article today with some interesting tidbits on Zac's season. Ram Bytes: Stacy Proves to be Premium Pick

Highlights:

quote:

Stacy has the most productive yards-rushing season by a rookie since the Rams moved to St. Louis in 1995. The previous high was Steven Jackson's 673 yards rushing in 2004

quote:

Stacy has averaged 85 yards rushing per game as a starter. During Jackson's time in St. Louis, he averaged 77.4 yards rushing per game overall, and 81 yards in games that he started.

quote:

Stacy has 850 yards in 10 games as the starter. Over that time, the only NFL backs who have more are Green Bay's Eddie Lacy (977), Kansas City's Jamaal Charles (892), Chicago's Matt Forte (880) and Philadelphia's LeSean McCoy (875.)

quote:

Stacy ranks second in rushing among NFL rookies this season; Lacy leads with 1,028 yards. He has 48 more rushing attempts than Stacy. All together now: SEC! SEC! SEC!

ZMFS ended up just short of 1,000 with 973 rushing yards on 250 attempts (3.9 ave.). Add in 26 catches for another 141 yards and a combined total of 8 TDs and you have a damn good season, especially for someone drafted in the 5th round...

And who had 1 carry for 4 yards through the first 4 games. The Seahawks' Dline just dominated the Rams' Oline. He was breaking tackles to get back to LOS.

I actually would like to point out another Dore now in St Louis. Chris Williams actually played very well from what I saw this year. Too bad he was hurt or just failing at blocking for Cutler so much.

Are the Rams still using him at Tackle or have they moved him to a Guard slot?

Williams has been at left guard for most of the season.
