Nah that was Coghlan, Shwar tore his ACL on opening day, but Dr. Stein did his best and got him ready for tonight. Seriously, the guy got cleared to run like last week and they decided to activate him and throw him in the lineup.

Well, theoretically it should go to Game 7, Cubs batter launches a bottom of 9th 2 out shot that's gonna be a walk off winner BUT it hits a bird and falls safely into an Indian outfielder's glove, clinching the series for Cleveland

I think it was Mark Wohlers. Hell of a closer that was never the same after giving up that homer to Leyritz in game 4 of the 96 World Series. That shite was heartbreaking.

I don't like to think about these things.
Mackey Sasser, a catcher for the Mets (I believe) used tap his glove 2-3 times every time he threw the ball back to the pitcher after a normal pitch. After awhile runners at first would take off and steal second easily.

He basically lost his edge during the first half of his 2nd season in '91. Mistakes got into his head and he continued to dig himself a hole.

Smoltz is a great guy. I met him twice and he is very down to earth and appreciative of fans. I can say the same about Dale Murphy too. Very nice guy as well.

I used to be a big baseball memorabilia collector. The Braves used to have a player a couple of times a year sign autographs before some of their games for cans of food for the Food Bank. I went down there and got a jersey autographed by him for 2 cans of food, and my son got a picture autographed.
I had some great autographs in my collection until I sold it. Ted Williams autographed bat. 4 Nolan Ryan autographed jersy's, one from each team he played for.
A Yogi Berra autographed Jersey, Pete Rose Auot. bat, Tony Gwynn auto. bat.....all kinds of stuff.

Probably the most cruel thing to witness in all of sports. Seems to mostly affect pitchers and golfers. I don't even like to think about it.

All I remember is one day he lost his shite and suddenly it was a horror freak show every time he tried to intentionally walk a batter. If he didn't throw it over catchers head, he either hit the batter or threw it right over the plate. Let's just stop talking about it.
