You do realize that just because you are favored does not mean it's a lock, right?

No but it means you probably should win the game.

So, Las Vegas had us pegged for 9.5 wins yet we should have won every game? The very argument you use to say we should have won every games says we should have lost 3-4 games. After Gurley went down MOST people on here thought we would lose to Arkansas and Missouri.

I understand your statistics, but it's disappointing losing games youre favored in.

Yes it is. No argument there...but we have to use perspective.

With a KSU loss... Had we finished our season the way we think we should have, 11-1 with our only loss to Florida, we would have likely lost to Alabama in the SECCG, then lost to TCU in the Peach Bowl and ended up 10-3 anyways on a sour note.

In a perfect world if we had only one loss between the 3 we had...any of the three...we would have been in the SEC CG and, again IF the team that showed in the second half of the Clemson game, the First half of the Arkansas game, the Missourri or Auburn games played Alabama we win by double digits and beat either FSU or Ohio State. I don't think anyone beats the Oregon team that embarrassed FSU but that is not the same Oregon team that was less than impressive most of the season.

The fact of the matter is that we are good enough to beat just about anyone even with the loss of one of the best tailbacks to play the game and a QB who was less than good for most of the season. We are this good almost every season.....the trouble is that we don't take advantage of opportunities like a championship team does. Coaching, karma, lack of facilities...call it whatever but the fact is that we are a 8-10 win a season program who is known as an underachiever by almost every "expert" in the field. No manner of fancy locker rooms, indoor practice facilities or golden unicorns is going to change this systemic, chronic under achievement. These things will be nice and keep us up with the Joneses for recruiting purposes, but they are not going to change the fact that we simply are not a championship caliber program. We have won our conference twice in 31 years....and it is pretty easy to make the argument that both of those came at a time when the conference was down. Now we don't even get the benefit of a down year in the conference...

This was a weird season. Going in I thought we would finish 7-5 or 8-4. In that regard, 10 wins is a positive. But, given the way we lost to our two biggest rivals and USCe, I can't say I am happy with the season.

Overall, I think it was a pretty typical in that we won a few games in impressive fashion (AUB, MIZZ) lost a few do to wacky in game antics (USCe, GT), and picked on game to not show up (obviously UF).
